Breathe In. Breathe Out.
Those four words were what everyone told him to do whenever he felt nervous.
His brothers, secondary teachers, his counselor, even his grandpa would tell him to do the same old routine when he felt nervous.
And today was no different.
Shaji couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle at his current predicament, rubbing his left hand up and down his right arm, feeling all the goosebumps that had formed in the past minute or so.
Ironic, wasn't it? Someone like him, someone who has had years of being up on stage, being in the eyes of dozens and giving all of them a show to remember, yet he still got the jitters at even the thought of those dozens looking right at him.
He closes his eyes again.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
His eyes flutter open, and his hand moves away from his arm to rest on the bridge of his guitar, feeling the steel strings rubbing against the palm and fingers of his hand as it absentmindedly drifted up and down the neck.
He looks down, a small smile tugging at his lips as his other hand begins feeling the body.
He had spent the rest of Friday night building this gal from scratch, using the rosewood planks to good use.
Thank goodness Principal Nezu had decided to give him the weekend off instead of going through with their original tutoring plan due to how fast he was learning. Had they did, he probably would have gotten an earful from him for pulling an all nighter.
He breathes a sigh, and moves his hand from the body to the small amp/speaker that was attached to his hip, making sure the cord was connected and that it wasn't turned on to prevent feedback noise.
His smile widens a little more, feeling the meticulous handiwork he had put into making this baby. After testing out the newest addition to his axe lineup, and also after getting some well deserved sleep, he started using the remaining planks and whatever he could find in the development studio to create some other gear to help him in his effort.
Sure, this little amplifier paled in comparison to his usual amp lineup back home, but it will have to do.
Besides, his already given it a name. Isn't that right Percy Junior?
He breathes another sigh to further calm his nerves, and peaks out from the corner he was hiding behind, his eyes staring down the route he had planned out for his little 'debut'.
It was just a straight path down from where he stood, to where Tatouin Station was, and to the area he wanted to busk.
He had come by this place while following the train tracks as he walked back from Mei's house and his abrupt but successful audition for that pianist role with Musutafu Symphonic Orchestra.
And as he had suspected last night, the place was beaming with life.
Office workers, young adults, teenagers, elderly, parents, and kids. All of them either making their way to their own places of interest, or just out for a simple stroll with friends or family.
