If you haven't already, you should check out AlexZander and read about their chaotic trip.
''...Can we have fun now?'' I ask once my plate is empty.
''Yes. What do you want to do?'' Sebastian smiles slightly at me as he clears the table.
''Play Mario Kart,'' I grin.
He appears a little surprised by my answer. ''We can do that. Will you set it up?''
I nod and scoot back on my chair, hurrying out of the kitchen. Nearing the living room, I prepare myself to sprint and vault over the sofa. It's fun every time! Bringing out my old Wii console and rummaging around for its remotes among the heaps of cords, random devices and CDs takes me a few minutes, and by the time it's all installed, Sebastian has settled on the sofa—ready to play with me. I hand him the steering wheel with the attached remote and plop myself down beside him.
He picks King Boo as his character, and I choose Coopa Tropa, and then we proceed to start with the easiest Cup. I intend to go through them all; hopefully, he has the attention span for it. He doesn't seem as enthusiastic about this as me, but he tries.
''...You play like an old person who's never handled an electronic device,'' I comment on his poor skills.
He sighs as he skids off the track again. ''I've never really played any video games,'' he says, uncrossing and crossing his ankles on the table.
''But you have a driver's licence!'' I look at him with slight disapproval.
''This game was not on the test,'' he says and nods at the screen, picturing my character as the winner. ''You won again.''
Giggling, I flash a triumphant smile for him before selecting to go on to the next race. We continue playing for a longer while—until I begin to flag. I rest my head on his shoulder, driving carelessly; so carelessly that he wins for the first time.
He slides his arm around me, squeezing my shoulder. ''Are you getting tired, little Soph?''
Humming, I drop the remote in my lap and stretch out my arms.
''Do you want to watch a TV show or a movie then?'' he suggests.
''Yes,'' I drawl, pushing myself off the sofa. ''You do that while I make coffee.''
–
With my coffee and sweets, I snuggle up with him on the swing. He drapes a soft blanket over my bare legs, whilst I try figuring out which movie he picked for us to watch. It appears to be some period drama—not my favourite genre, but I don't mind. I mostly crave cuddles, and he gives them to me limitlessly.
Another thing: my phone has been buzzing in my pocket all day, but you know, I have been occupied today and haven't had a phone break. As I only find the movie half-interesting, I pull it out now to look into it. Simply seeing it is from Oliver rouses expectancy in me. I open our conversation and skim through it. He has sent me a good amount of pics and clips of less good quality—sneaky ones.
"I kind of wish I said going to London and the Brinkleys when you asked me what I wanted to do for fun,'' I chuckle, tilting my head back to look at him.
He kisses my forehead. ''Really? What's going on?'' he asks with a gleam of interest in his eyes.
I pick up my phone again to show him, letting him scroll through the documentation. ''It's practically a circus over there...''
''That sounds like a nightmare and an entertaining time at once,'' he remarks and hands me my phone.
''Yeah, but this is better than the movie you picked for us,'' I giggle. ''Ask Alex. Have you sent him a Happy Birthday text?''
''No, I haven't texted him in ages,'' he replies quickly, his tone becoming somewhat frosty when speaking of him. ''I prioritised playing Mario Kart with you for three hours.''
''As you should,'' I say, my tone having a little sass.
He grasps my chin and tips my head back, forcing eye contact. ''Can't you be a sweet girl for longer than 5 minutes?''
His stern voice makes me squirm, my cheeks warming up. ''I am sweet.'' I try to sound confident, but my voice is nothing else but a sheepish mumble. ''Ollie's larky energy just channels to me through the phone. I think you should text Alex to get some energy channelled to you, maybe.''
''Maybe I will...'' He drones sceptically, letting my chin go, my neck clicking as I whip it upright again. ''I'm glad we don't have a family to vex us.''
''Yeah, same,'' I say, resting back on him. ''Just you and me is well enough.''
He clasps my hands gently, murmuring in my ear, ''Just you and me. I couldn't wish for something better.''
