The team of Brock, Darrell and Evanna travelled on foot for 4 days, eventually stopping near a BnB. Brock wanted to keep staying in the forest for sleep, but Evanna was having none of that and eventually, Darrell bought in and just took all of them to the BnB. Evanna was tired to death at that point, to where she didn't even bother writing with her diary, it would just be mindless scribbles, so Darrell set her off to sleep. Darrell soon went up to Brock, making an attempt to read the newspaper, nothing was interesting him, and tapped his shoulder.
Darrell just made one request to him, it was simple and direct: "Get us more food." He said. "We head off tomorrow, they don't have much here so go and get us some if any shops are open, I'll stay here with Eva." Brock grumbled but headed off, bringing the bag his bat was in, put the room keys in with the bat, and then he went on his way to search for a store that was still open.
"Can't believe he's only asking this now out of all times." He thought to himself, staring at the night sky. It wasn't that late into the night, but it was still dark enough for him to properly use any of his powers. "What if I got jumped in some way? Betting his lazy arse isn't going to be there to save..." He grumbled to himself, getting angrier. "That little dense twit!" Lightly kicking a trash can nearby, making a sound, and kept walking.
But the rumble of the trash can didn't stop. Did he kick it too hard? No. It wasn't that hard of a kick, perhaps he was just sensitive to noises, and sounds will just keep ringing to hi-
A loud metal bang interrupts his train of thought. It definitely wasn't him. It banged again. Distracted from his task, Brock went to identify the noise, craving action he hasn't seen in days.
He heard it again, he was close, it was located down a alleyway. He peaked over to see what it was. He was a person, can't identify any features, but they were tall and lanky. They were slamming down a trash can on something. Brock takes a longer glance and sees what they were slamming on, it was someone. Brock had to take action now. He unzips his bag and takes out his bat, careful not to be seen by the unknown figure. Brock stops hiding and charges charges the figure, a look of both fury and excitement on his face, bat at his hand, ready to knock whoever was beating up this poor man was. The figure takes a look at him, noticing the danger. Brock stops dead in his tracks, sucking any ego he had before out of him.The figure was a human, that's for sure, and it's a male. But there's something off with him. All of his features seemed fine for someone lanky like him, but it was his eyes. His eyes were almost entirely yellow, alien-like and inhumane, and the only thing that fills in the yellow void that were meant to be his eyes, was a bright pink dot in the middle of them. Brock, knowing something is clearly wrong, starts backing away, knowing he has to get out of here, and as soon as possible, he turns around and makes a mad dash out of the alleyway, fear on his face, forgetting completely about the shopping he was to do and returning to the BnB, hearing the slamming of the trash can continue to echo as he runs, even if he was far away.
With everything but food in his bag, he returned to his room he shared with his group, seeing both Evanna and Darrell sound asleep, and goes to sleep himself, not being bothered to wake them up to tell them of the events he witnessed. He will tell them though, something is happening.
There has to be something going on,
and whatever it was, they have to stop it.
