The trio started their final stretch towards their temporary paradise, the beach. It was said to be located at near a small town, where little people would be, so it wouldn't be crowded, so they can have the beach all to themselves and do whatever they want. Plus, it was said to look beautiful and the waters were fresh and sparkled like glitter. Evanna was getting curious about the beach, so when they were talking, she skipped along infront of them and looked back.
"I've been wondering now that we're getting close.." she started up the conversation. "Where did you even hear about this beach? If there isn't a lot of people, then how do you know?" Darrell smiled and was happy to respond. "Why, I actually heard this from Brock. He said he used to have a friend who took him out to this beach, and he used those exact words to describe it." Brock started to get embarrassed. "You better zip it, Goth guy! I ain't like that, I'm no poet, writer or whatever you're tryna make me out to be!" Evanna smiled hearing that, seeing an opportunity to mess with him. "Wow, I didn't know you were one for fancy words!" Brock, wanting to avoid this, starting to change the subject. "I've been getting hungry from all this walkin' we've been going through, anyone else?" The other two just nodded, slightly disappointed he was going to avoid the subject, but he was right. They were hungry, so they both nodded and went off to find a place to get lunch.
They all sat down on a bench, Darrell went up to order their food while Brock and Evanna waited. "You excited lass?" Brock asked. "Yea I am!" Evanna jumped. Brock laid back a bit, happy there wasn't any distractions, just the three of them, peace to themselves, going on their holiday soon and ready to re-
"GET OUT OF HERE!" A loud, urgent creaky voice shouted, nearby. Both Evanna's and Brock's heads turned at the voice echoed. "Fucking hell...." Brock cursed, Evanna eyes widening at the swear. Darrell rushed out and went to see the both of them after hearing the loud voice. "Are you two ok?!" Darrell's voice reaching a slight take of worry. "We're fine." Brock assured. "Just some lad shouted out really loudly and-"
"Brock said the f word." Evanna followed up with, unrelated to the shout. "We'll save that for later Eva," Darrell said. "For now, let's just see what that shout was about, it may be related to what me and Brock were talking about."They went near the building where the noise was located, it was a bar, and a ruckus was coming from inside. The trio hid in a nearby alleyway, to avoid being spotted eavesdropping.
"I'll go send send three wires in there and connect it to a electrical device in there. I'll see what's happening in there." With that, Darrell started to focus, a string of black and whire wires manifested out of his back, small and barely visible to the human eye, as to not catch any attention. He sat there and it extended, going under the door to the bar. Feeling his way, Darrell connected them to a TV in the bar, and the screen went from a dark empty screen into static. From the outside, Darrel's eyes became static too, and started to see not Brock and Evanna, but the insides of the bar. There was the man who shouted, and he looked like a total lunatic. He was a total outcast to everyone else in the bar. He wore a white tank top, had black, motorist goggles, brown, short and rough hair and wore long blue pants. He was still freaking out, yelling at the others to shield their eyes, avoid all screens and to get out of the bar. They didn't understand him at all. The people in the bar were getting pissed over this loonie ruining their perfectly fine day and we're ready to kick him out, but he shouted right before he was about to get thrown out the door. "I'LL EXPLAIN! I'LL EXPLAIN EVERYTHING! PLEASE JUST LET ME SAVE YOU! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!"
Even if this sounded like the most desperate plea on the planet, they lst him explain himself, he calmed down a bit and started explaining his odd behaviour."Please, there's a evil company in this town, they're sending mindless criminals down here, they have yellow eyes, you have to be careful, I saw one of them kick a woman to a pulp and take them with them!" He started hyperventilating. After hearing this, he got kicked out of the bar, and when he did, everyone cheered in his disappearance. Darrell tuned out of the TV now, and sent a wire to the odd man's head to read his thoughts while the other two wires retreated, he clearly knows about what Brock saw last night, so he could have information. "They're going to get taken! They'll see M.E. on screen and then they'll be hypnotised, and they'll turn into.....I HAVE TO GO BACK AND TELL ALICE!" The odd man told himself in his mind. The last piece of information Darrell got before being forced to withdraw the wire was the odd man's home address, and then Darrell went to tell the other two the event he witness unfold.
"Mr. Darrell...I'm scared, will we ok? Are we in danger?" Evanna worryingly asked. "It's ok, we aren't getting hurt, we're just gonna see what's happening here, do some "work" incase any is needed, and we'll head off." Darrell reassured her. Brock held her close for a moment, calming her down. "Ay lass, don't worry about this, We'll be alright, we'll just have to to delay our holiday, that's all." He said before letting her go. Then the two men went back to chatting about the man, or rather, what he said.
"Company? Hypnosis?" Brock questioned. "This isn't just a group, and they're kidnapping people!?!? Dear god, we have a big issue on our hands. This lad you saw can be helpful, but it sounds like he had one too many drinks." Darrell shut down the idea of the man being drunk. "No, he couldn't have been, he seemed way too stable to be drunk and was standing up and walking upright. Though, I might just be playing Devil's advocate. Still, he has important information, let's visit him.
With that, they got away from the alleyway and started searching for the man's house. Darrell held Evanna's hand, she still seemed worried, and mouthed "Everything will be OK." With one final comfort, they starting journey towards his house, to see if he could be of any assistance.
