"Aye, B!"

Beauty turned around from feeding Midnight, her favorite horse on her parent's farm, to see who was calling her. It was her childhood friend Lala. Beauty smiled and dropped Midnight's food before taking off running. "Hey girl!" They clashed into each other, but Lala made sure to wrap her legs around her best friend. Beauty wasn't a weak woman, so she was able to hold Lala up and not topple to the ground.

After a few moments of friendly affection, they pulled away from each other with bright smiles on their faces. "What's got you out her?" Beauty asked as she adjusted her clothes. Lala's smile did not falter as she spoke, " I was coming to see what you were doing tonight. Also, I wanted to tell you I finally got me an apartment in Atlanta and I have an extra room for my bestie."

Beauty's eyes widened with excitement, "Shit, I'm down! I ain't much for the city, but I can't wait to leave Cumming." The friends did one of their handshakes as if to solidify the move. Lala laughed at Beauty's excitement, "I know. That's why I had to come tell you. So, pack your bags tonight and we'll be out. My folks done handled the furniture and shit." Beauty raised a brow, "Okay, big money." They both laughed. "Girl, Dad saved his tax money. Everything goes back back to normal after that." Lala said then jumped on her bestie's back for a piggy- back ride.

Beauty rolled her eyes but allowed Lala's actions. " Hold on, we're going to the house." she said as she gripped Lala's thighs to hold her up. They made their way down a long dirt road towards Beauty's parent's home. Lala tapped Beauty's shoulder, "As far as work, there is a clothing store up the street from the apartment that's willing to hire us. I've already talked to the owner. She's really down for employing black women." Beauty nodded, " That's awesome. You've really been working, friend. Now, to let ma and dad know I'm moving out."

They entered the home, Lala now on her feet. Beauty's mother came out of her bedroom, "Hey y'all. Y'all look up to something, so what's going on?" Lala laughed as she gave the older woman a big hug. "Hey ma. I was telling B about my new apartment in Atlanta." Beauty cleared her throat as she took a couple steps closer to her mother. "I'm moving out tonight, ma."

Her mother was surprised and saddened, but she knew how much her daughter had been wanting to leave Cumming. "I'm happy for you, hun. Don't forget about me and your daddy when you become a city girl." Her mom said with a smile. The two friends laughed. "You don't have to worry about that, ma. Beauty is too much of a country girl to ever be a city girl." Lala laughed and dodged a playful slap from Beauty.

"Ma, you know I'll be out here every weekend. I have to come check on Midnight, too." Beauty hugged her mother again before she and Lala went to her room to pack. Lala jumped on her bed in excitement, "Bitch, we are moving into our own place!" Beauty couldn't help but smile. It was beginning to feel as if she was getting a breath of fresh air. "I know right. Come on and help me pack so we can dip. I'm trying to hit the streets to celebrate." Beauty said and winked at her bestie, who hopped up from the bed to help her.
