📍Pearl's Funeral Home| Job Lane Spanish Town𝙰𝚕𝚊𝚏𝚒𝚊 𝙷𝚊𝚛𝚛𝚒𝚜 𝙿.𝙾.𝚅
The hardest part of my job will forever be an unyielding corpse.
Those bodies that never stay still despite the numerous times you have set them in your desired position.
A single bead of sweat rolls off my forehead, landing perfectly in an oval shape against the table.
I snort at how wet my forehead feels despite the low degrees of the Air-condition.
It feels as though I have perched myself at the ass crack of satan's doorstep.
A mi dutty sin dem mon
Back straightened, I flick my head back trying to get as much hair out of my face as I can without having to remove the gloves.
I look down at my client lying below me. "A yuh cause this ennuh. If only yuh woulda behave yuhself lady and just mek mi dress yuh. Ash a from yuh come out a yuh mada yuh bad and seet all inna death yaah problem." I scold her—tucking in the loose fabric that covers the lower half of her body underneath her.
I'm just going to have to move on with doing her hair and then have Jerry or Levi finish up the dressing.
For some odd reason, they always listen to them more than me.
Then again Ash used to love man like Dawg so her cooperating with either of them won't surprise me one bit.
A leg behind the other I take a step back from Ash and tug towards me a tray choked with everything to achieve the best hairstyle in town.
My lips twist to the side in thought as I pull out a drawer ramstacked with donated lace wigs.
A few months ago one of my client's aunt who is a wig influencer came in and dropped off a bunch of wigs for my female clients as a means of showing her appreciation for how well her niece was taken care of.
What can I say?
I do my job and I do it well... excellent that is!
Once a dolly always a dolly even inna death, caah cross over inna nothing stiff mad.
