Being TrueThe Storm
Everyone is blinded with the unwavering lies driven and accepted with full arms by society, little white lies that are fed to both the young and old. We distract ourselves with social media avoiding the true problems that are present in our world.
Many become a victim of not loving their true selves because they let others define them, they feed onto the retching judgment and opinions of others without actually knowing their true self.
Others manipulate themselves by thinking that it is okay to settle for less, for us to graduate, then to work a 9 to 5 job until our skins get wrinkly and weary, and then to die for our "beloved" nation.
Still to this day, racism occurs in our communities and others ignore it because it's entitled to be "normal" now, the utter stupidity of others baffles me for the fact that maybe the Black Lives Matter or known as BLM move was all taken for granted. Maybe it was all just used for publicity and as a pathway to fame.
If we post in our platforms about certain controversies or problems , or if we change our pfp to a certain image that serves as raising awareness or propaganda. One thing we need to do is ask ourselves if it makes a change in us or do we just do it because we are forced to? or is it because others did it, does it mean we have to do it too? As people we should hold ourselves accountable for our own actions.
Children crying and fighting for meals, meanwhile others complain and stress about if the food they eat will have enough instagram likes inorder for their egos to be boosted and their status to be "uplifted".
Wars are happening between nations, but others are having wars with themselves and random people from the internet through hollow blue screens with pixels that rots our brains. Leading to the neglect of the fact that innocent people are losing their lives.
The rest compare their lives to others, trying to catch up with the rich even if they are poor. Comparing the square feets of their stupid homes filled with sadness and no joy. Blabbering about their salaries and cars that makes stupid noises that has everyone aroused. Many only help when others are watching or if a camera is recording.
We show off our shoes and clothes, without showing gratitude but instead showing attitude and brags, not knowing some can't even afford what they have, they walk barefoot, and they wear the same clothes over and over and over and over again.
Comparison is the thief of happiness, we have forgotten the most basic human principle and that is to appreciate what we have and to look forward to what we will have.
The continuous cycle and routine of this generation will tear down the beauty of living. We as humans have forgotten how to live life to the fullest, instead we let our bodies rot in our beds, we let comfort kill our goals and dreams. We settle for less and not for more. Our eyes need to be opened and our hearts to be flamed with hope and resilience.
I can say often our dreams and hallucinations collides with our realities, leaving us vulnerable human beings with no discipline and responsibility, Slowly losing the true meaning of what we call life.
