Finally the wedding day!

Sunlight streamed through the hotel window, dappling my face in a warm glow. Today was the day. The air crackled with nervous excitement, a feeling I wouldn't trade for anything. But first, coffee.

I peeked into the next room, finding Sarah sprawled across the bed, hair a delightful mess, phone clutched like a lifeline. "Rise and shine, sleepyhead!" I teased, the playful energy bubbling over. "We've got a wedding to crash... er, I mean, orchestrate!"

Sarah jolted upright, her eyes wide like a startled owl. "Oh my gosh, Alexis! Is it really happening?" She scrambled out of bed, a flurry of activity. "Okay, spill the tea! Did Kate manage to snag that vintage Rolls Royce she was eyeing? And did Lucy finally decide on a hairstyle that doesn't involve a whole can of hairspray?"

We fell into a comfortable routine—Sarah coordinating with the florist (those lilies were going to be breathtaking!), me finalizing the seating chart. The morning flew by in a whirlwind of flower deliveries, hair and makeup trials, and endless cups of coffee.

Lunch was a chaotic affair, a picnic spread laid out on the hotel lawn. We huddled around checkered blankets, Kate chattering excitedly about the last-minute boutonniere change (apparently, sunflowers and blue hyacinths were "too cheerful," whatever that meant). Mariz, ever the jokester, kept trying to swipe bites from my plate, earning her a playful swat from Rebecca. Oh I'll tell you quickly. Remember that time Rebecca swore she'd found her own personal rainbow like Kim? Turns out, Mariz had a way of captivating hearts! Let's just say Rebecca learned a valuable lesson about sparkly personalities. She completely fell for Mariz's traps!

Finally the exchange vows!

"Alexis! Are you ready or what?" Sarah's voice, laced with barely contained excitement, bursted through the door. A whirlwind of purple tulle followed, revealing Sarah, my maid of honor, looking radiant in her bridesmaid dress.

"Almost!" I chirped, a playful smile tugging at my lips. "Just gotta tame these maniacal curls, thanks to the humidity."

The afternoon was a flurry of activity. Lisa, my ever-reliable makeup artist, worked her magic, creating a look that was both elegant and effortlessly me. Meanwhile, Sarah, with the help of Rachel (Kate's ever-organized assistant), bustled around the room, fluffing pillows, hanging dresses, and coordinating the arrival of the bridesmaids.

"Okay, deep breaths, Lex," Sarah instructed, placing a calming hand on my shoulder. "It's gonna be amazing. Besides, you've got a whole team of girl power on your side!"

She gestured towards the other bridesmaids—Carla, my party girl friend, now a renowned photographer, capturing every candid moment; Olivia, my childhood best friend, currently dabbing away a stray tear (happy tears, of course!); and even Rebecca, my social butterfly friend, radiating in her purple bridesmaid dress.

The afternoon was a blur of nervous anticipation. Sarah helped me into the dress—a masterpiece of purple lace that felt like a dream. Kate, a vision in a sharp navy suit, helped me with the veil, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "You look incredible, Alexis," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "Like the most beautiful bride in the whole world."

The hours flew by in a blur of laughter, champagne toasts, and whispered secrets. Suddenly, Carla announced, "First look time, lovebirds!"

Moments later...

My breath caught in my throat as I stepped out of the room, my heart hammering a frantic rhythm against my ribs. And there she was, Kate, standing by the window, bathed in the golden afternoon light.

But it was the look in her eyes that stole my breath away. A mixture of love, pride, and barely concealed tears glistened in them.

"Wow," Kate whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "You're absolutely breathtaking, Alexis. And here I thought I was the one who cleaned up nice."
