Mailing system: Origins

The Astral Express never had a mailing system. In fact, the ragtag group of Trailblazers have been notoriously difficult to contact. It was hard to imagine a literal space train being technologically outdated, yet here they were, an outlier, with practically everyone else in the universe being able to send interspace mail. As such, anybody hoping to make an inquiry would have to wait for the serendipitous arrival of The Train on their planet, and get in touch in person. This was the case until on a day of reckoning, March left her camera behind in Belobog. It was an item she couldn't bear to leave behind, but not one worth making an Astral U-turn™ for. Her teary-eyed ramblings about the memories she'd lose if she didn't recover her camera eventually pushed the rest of the crew members past their breaking points. In a decisive moment, Himeko announced that their next stop would be the Herta Space Station. Her impulsive decision was a desperate attempt to shut the pink-haired girl up, and to prevent future incidents from recurring.

To Herta, a member of the prestigious Genius Society, merely installing a mailing system in the Astral Express was child's play. And that she did, much to the relief of the Trailblazers. As expected, March was the most excited about their new toy. She haphazardly mashed out a letter addressed to Belobog, and received a reply within days. She received a package in her designated parcel locker, accompanied by a cautionary letter from Bronya to be more wary of her belongings. With bated breath she peeled back the tape sealing the box, revealing her coveted camera. She took it into her trembling arms, and embraced it like a mother would. As the other crew members braced for the impending tear-filled outburst, Stelle gazed contemplatively at her own parcel locker, mulling over the countless possibilities. Perhaps granting her the capability to send mail to anyone, anywhere wasn't the best idea, as the universe shall soon witness.
