Pretend | Taegyu

●A Flashback●

It's been two hours already since the two were locked up in the bedroom. And for a matter of fact, neither of the two were ready for a talk in here.

Beomgyu had his earphones in and Taehyun was staring at a stain on the wall, seemingly zoning out. 

He remembered that he should've probably expected this from the other three. Considering the fact, that this was the only way that the trio knew how to patch up things between all of them if a fight broke out. 

Ever since high-school. 

Right, high-school. Taehyun bitterly chuckled. He took a glance at Beomgyu, who was sitting with his eyes closed. 

"Do you remember what happened on... that night?" Taehyun whispered, feeling his voice choke up even at the mere thought. 

However, he did not receive a response. When he looked up, he saw Beomgyu with an earphone out in his hand now, looking confused. "Did you say something? I was listening to music." 

Taehyun sighed, looking back down on the carpeted floor. For a few seconds, he refused to say something and as soon as Beomgyu was about to put his earphone back in, Taehyun spoke out in a quieted tone. 

"Why did you.. leave me?" 

Beomgyu froze, his eyes blinked. He gulped the small lump in his throat, which he felt, was slowly growing bigger. "I don't want to talk about that."

Taehyun suddenly sat up straight, his tightened fist resting against the rough carpet. "When are we going to talk about this then?" Taehyun finally looked at Beomgyu with such an emotion in his eyes which he could not comprehend. "Are we going to keep on ignoring this shit? Because I need fucking answers!"

Beomgyu and Taehyun were- what they called- a high-school sweethearts couple. They've been dating from the ending of their first year, all the way to the ending of the third year. 

Taehyun was the vice president of the school, automatically making him a member of the school council along with Soobin. And Beomgyu was the leader of the school's music band, which also included Kai, Yeonjun and some other schoolmates. 

Their very first meeting was.. not exactly pleasant, to say the very least. They got off the wrong foot when Beomgyu got Taehyun in detention because of a very stupid reason and soon after, Taehyun shut down Beomgyu's music band three weeks prior to a very important competition, almost making it impossible for them to win. 

But they did. (Choi Beomgyu proudly flaunted himself and his team for that.)

But months after their useless rivalry, they started their relationship under a different name. 

Friends. Or rather school project partners. 

Same thing, whatever.

They surely did started off the wrong foot and had almost nothing in common. Except for the fact that they craved academic validation and were pretty good in studying. 

So that's what made them work as one together. And Taehyun was surprised to see that they had gotten through a week without fighting. Soon after the project was submitted, the two started seeing each other in a different limelight. 

According to Taehyun, after the project was done, Choi Beomgyu was a little more tolerable then.

In order to encourage this, Kai decided to merge the two friend groups into one. Also considering the fact that not only Taehyun and Beomgyu would be friends, but his hyung, Yeonjun, would also get frequent opportunities with his long-time crush, Choi Soobin, who was Taehyun's best friend.
