They crossed the bridge over to Il Cervello. They looked around them and saw a surprisingly normal kingdom. No rows of bodies on fields or any miles of chopped trees. A forest here, a river there. It was all quite normal. The Soldier almost sighed with relive when he noticed that. There was only one curiosity between the beautiful, expressionist sights of Il Cervello. A huge structure could be seen far away. A structure that reached into the skies reaching to above the clouds.
"Using the compass and map, I am able to guess through triangulation that the structure in the distance is located within the capital city of this country." The Scholar said.
"I reckon we coulda known this without triangu or whatever you said." The Soldier said.
"It is a cathedral." The Nobleman said. Everyone looked at him, but The Nobleman was deep in memory:
I was within the cathedral with my family. My mom was asking for forgiveness within the confessional. She had done nothing wrong, but she had caught my father cheating on her with one of the maids. Nobody had stopped father when he began beating her for it.
"It is a part of being a nobleman." I was told, "You need to keep your wife in line."
Mom stepped out of the confessional booth, her eye still black. I stepped in, ready to confess my new secret.
"The Nobleman!" The Doctor shouted at him. The Nobleman snapped back at reality. He shook his head and blinked a few times.
"My apologies. Let us go towards the capital city of this fine kingdom." The Nobleman smiled.
"No no, hold on. This is a concerning development. Let me check you first." The Doctor said as she began inspecting him for any medical problems. After that was done, they began making their way capital city. On their way, they crossed through several villages. What made them bizarre, was the fact the villages were all producing a singly good. One good per village. Anything else the village needed would have to be imported from the village that produced it. They even passed through a village the only produced cooking pots. A guilty look came over The Nobleman his face. When they arrived at the capital, they were dumbfounded at how it looked. The city itself looked how any medieval city would. Dirty, dirt roads, the peripheral full of bad, wooden houses and the center made out of cobblestone. Taverns, animals and beggars were everywhere. People going about their day, trying their hardest to make it to tomorrow. The smell of death and desperation seeped into everyone's noses as they stood at the entrance of the city. Nobody paid them any attention, even though they stuck out like sore thumbs. The only thing that kept taking the groups attention was the huge cathedral in the center in the center of the city. As they kept getting closer and closer to the central cathedral, it only kept looking more and more magnificent. They soon found themselves deep within the metropolis, trying to find the queen or king of this land.
"Maybe we should go to the cathedral?" The Doctor asked.
"Do not be bizarre." The Nobleman began, "The nobility are above the clergy. They are integral to running a country. They would be separated in a decent kingdom."
"Maybe this country is a theocracy?" The Scholar suggested.
"A what?" The Soldier asked.
"A country ran by a religion or religious figures." The Spy explained.
"With how grand that religious structure is, it seems like quite the possibility." The Scholar said.
"I'd have to agree. I mean, just look at it. It's huge." The Doctor said.
The group eventually started making their way towards the cathedral. The people in the city were full of desperation, yet they always made time to pray to the gods. When they arrived, they were in awe of it. The plaza in front of the cathedral was impressive on its own. Fountains depicting the divine beings made out of marble shooting pure, crystal clear water into their basins. The flooring was a beautiful mosaic made out of pink, red, blue, yellow and green glass stones, depicting the growth of the city and her people. The door of the cathedral was huge. It required its own mechanical machinery to open them. Guards were stationed near them to operate it. The Soldier turned to The Doctor to say something, but The Doctor was too focused on the people.
