Tuesday 27th 9am
"Hey Sarah, what's up? I haven't seen you in a while."
Sarah was surprised that he had noticed. The 'Vee' she knew never took notice of her. Their eyes had never met. Lost in thought, she didn't reply the first time. Vee patted her on the back before she fully regained her consciousness.
"Is everything alright?"
"Yeah, I guess," Sarah replied, pretending she hadn't heard him the first time.
"Nothing serious," Vee continued. "I just asked why you weren't in school."
"Oh, I had the flu, and my mom advised me not to come."
"Oh, that's chill," Vee responded with a smirk. "So, how are you?" Sarah asked politely.
Vee pulled out a chair and sat beside her, maintaining eye contact before responding. "Yeah, I'm okay. Classes are fine. Everyone's being annoying as usual. But the real question here is, how are you?" He asked with a concerned look on his face.
Unknowingly, Sarah blushed. "What do you mean, how am I?"
"You always wear a gloomy face that hides the perfect smile behind it. You don't have any friends, and you're failing all your subjects. You have everything anyone could ever want. You can buy anything in a twinkle of an eye. So what really is happening to you, Say?"
Had he just given her a nickname, Say, that sounded nice and relaxed? She was flattered, but of course, she couldn't show that outwardly.
"How do you know all this? I'm very private, and no one knows about me. Even if you found out, why do you care? WHY!" She replied with a blunt face, trying to hide her real emotions.
"Oh, now you need to take a chill pill. As the son of the proprietor, I know everything and anything that happens in this school. So, 'Miss PRIVACY', that's how I knew," he jeered. "Now, to the second question. Vee Coach needs you now."
"Jack had just interrupted the conversation of Sarah's life. She was frustrated as she knew he had to leave, but she maintained a simple face so she could maintain her 'steeze'."
"Sarah, I'll be back in a bit. Could you just wait for like 20 minutes?"
"Yeah, sure. I don't have anything else to do, so why not?"
When he left, she could finally express herself. She was flattered; she had actually just had a conversation with Vee Stone, the straight-A scholar, the head of the football team, and the legit most handsome boy in her class, and most importantly, HER ALL-TIME CRUSH.
Having a conversation, Sarah had studied Vee so much that she could describe him perfectly. He had a charming smile that lit up his face, with eyes that sparkled like the morning sun. His eyes were a deep shade of hazel, flecked with hints of gold and green that shimmered under the light. They were framed by long, dark lashes that accentuated their almond shape. His hair was styled effortlessly, framing his strong jawline. Every move he made seemed confident and graceful, drawing attention effortlessly. His presence was magnetic, leaving a lasting impression on everyone around him. He was just so perfect.
Twenty minutes had gone. Another twenty minutes had gone. Sarah was getting impatient. She left the room at the sound of the bell for the next class. Had he just bailed on her? No, he probably just got caught up in practice. But he promised, right? But something could have come up. Anything could have happened.
Sarah walked by classes, and as she walked into her class, she heard Vee's voice and a girl laughing. She looked into the passage and saw him with his hands on her shoulders as they laughed at a joke she considered silly. She didn't even know what to think; some moments ago, she thought he was in love with her, but now he was laughing his life out with a girl.
"Sarah!" Frances shouted out.
She had just come back to her real life; she had gotten back from school. All this had happened yesterday, and she was trying really hard to get over it. Vee didn't even seem to notice her today.
"Your mom left a message for you," Frances said.
"Oh, thanks."
"She opened the message......."
At that same time, Mag had just finished her mentorship class. Everything seemed to have gone well; she had met Daniel, and he had been one of her best students. She quickly erased the thought that it was her son. She had spent most of the day thinking about Tom. She didn't know what to feel for him. Their eyes had made so many contacts during the class, but she tried to ignore. She was on her way to her car when Tom stopped her.
"Ken wants to see you."
"K-k-e-e-n-n," she blurted out. "Why?"
Tom handed the address over to her and left.
"Am I actually going to see him?" she thought. Just when she thought her day was going well, she just got snubbed by Tom and now a message to her from Ken.
