//Karis' POV//
*bing* *bing* *bing* Ugghh I groan as I sit up. I look at my phone to see its just Twitter notifications. It's been 2 days since I've talked to Hayes. not that I'm mad at him it's just been awkward since what happened at the beach. And I also needed to spend some time with my papa and Loretta since I haven't since I've been here. I get up and go get dressed and put on my makeup and all that other stuff. I'm eating breakfast when there's a knock at the door. My papa and Loretta are still asleep though so I look out the peephole to see Hayes. I open the door. "hey" I say standing awkwardly." hey I just wanted to see if you wanted to hang out today" "yeah sure" I say instantly glad he asked. "just hold on a sec I gotta tell my papa but you can wait in the kitchen if you want" i say. "okay" he says smiling. I walk over to my grandparents door and knock. the door opens to reveal my papa. "hey is it okay if I hang out with Hayes today"I ask. "yeah sure"he says. "Let's go" I say walking out the door. Hayes follows behind. We walk in his house and go up to his room. "so what do you want to do?" I ask. "I don't know" he says. "we could just sit and talk" I offer. "are you sure?" he asks. "yeah" I say. We just sit and talk for the next few hours, laughing and talking. I notice it's getting late. "it's getting late I should probably go" I say. "Well you can spend the night if you want" he says. I could tell by the look in his eyes he didn't want me to go. I give in "okay" I say smiling. I text my papa and ask him if I can stay he then replies with a yes. "I can stay" I say. "YASS" he says in a high pitched voice clapping his hands together. We start laughing our asses off. We start to calm down and he looks up at me seriously. "I have the greatest idea" he says staring straight at me" "what?" I ask "we should go to Starbucks" he replies. "that actually is a great idea but it's 12:00 are they even opened and if they are whose gonna drive us" I say. " I know for a fact there's one not too far from here that's open 24hours and I can drive us" he says. " you don't have your drivers license though" I say. "yeah but I have my learners permit and I've had loads of practice so i fought we'll get pulled over" he says confidently. "okay let's do this" I yell holding my hand up for him to high five. we high five and then walk out of his room to Nash's. he creaks the door open slowly to see Nash fast asleep. he tip toes through the room and quietly grabs the keys off the desk and tip toes out of the room. " what are you doing" I whisper yell. " I don't have my own car and I don't want him to come with us" he whispers back. "alright then but it's your head being pulled off by Nash if he finds out not mine" I say as we walk down the stairs. "he won't" Hayes says winking at me. I chuckle slightly and we get in the jeep and drive off. the radio is really quite but I hear my favorite song come on and I quickly turn it up and start singing along. I probably look retarded but I don't care. "I love this song" he says and joins in on my singing to i can't feel my face by the weeknd with me. we pull up into the parking lot and walk into the starbucks. "Are you ready to order?" The lady says politely. "umm yes I'd like to get a tall caramel frappe" Hayes says. "What's your name sir" the lady asks. "Hayes" he says. "what would you like ma'm" the lady says nicely. "I'll take a passion tango tea and an apple fritter" I say. "And what's your name sweetie"she asks. "Karis" I say. "alright that'll be $12.32" the lady says."here you go" I say about to hand her my card but Hayes puts his card down on the table before I can hand it to her. "Hayes you don't have to pay for me I'm a big girl ya know" I say. " yeah I know but I'm being a gentleman I would never let you pay for yourself if I took you somewhere" Hayes says. "okay well there's no point in arguing about it now since you alread"- I was cut off by our names being yelled out. "You pick a table I'll go get our stuff" Hayes says smiling at me. "okay" I say and walk over to a table in the back next to the window. I look up to see Hayes coming back with our stuff. we sit and drink our drinks and just enjoy each others company, taking funny photos of each other every once in a while, just talking about life. the next thing I know it's already 2:00am. "oh my gosh we should get going" I say. "okay but I don't want to go back yet I want to show you something" he says. "okay" I say and we get in the car. "so where are we going?" I asked. "you'll see" he says. " oh god you aren't gonna take me out into the woods and kill me are you?" I ask. "no" he says laughing. " it's just a surprise" he says. "okay" I say. before I knew it he stopped the car. we got out of the car. "follow me" Hayes says grabbing my hand. "alrighty then" I say. soon he stops and I look up. it was beautiful. it was an area around an isolated beach and it was surrounded by the prettiest flowers and palm trees. "oh my gosh Hayes it beautiful" I say amazed. "yeah no one knows about it except for me and now you. I come here to think and it's like my one place to go to get away and I wanted to share it with you so now it's our spot" he says. "Hayes that's really sweet" I say hugging him tightly. he hugs back and we just sit on the beach for a while until Hayes picks me up and tosses me into the water. but he jumps in right causing me to get splashed right as I sit up. I start laughing. I then see Hayes swim up to me and then he pushes me down into the water so I'm sitting down. now we're both just sitting in the water in silence. not awkward silence though comfortable silence. we were the type of best friends who could just sit in silence and it wouldn't be awkward at all. Hayes then turns to me and I look at him. "what?" I ask. "nothing I was just thinking" he says. "oh what were you thinking about" I ask. "about what's going to happen when we leave" he says. "I don't know Hayes" I say honestly. " but I don't want to think about it right now I just want to sit here with you and enjoy this moment" I say. I stand up and offer him a hand up. "we should probably go it's getting early and Nash will kill me if he knows" Hayes says smiling. "Yeah, your right" I say and we start to walk to the car. we get in and drive off singing and dancing along to the songs.
