It was finally the day of the magic knights exam as you walked behind the line of participants signing up for the exam
Finally reaching your turn, the registration clerk called out "Next!"
"I'm Y/N, common realm" you had chosen not to give out your actual identity in hopes of avoiding your parents finding out your whereabouts
"Alright, Y/N from the common realm" he repeated writing it down "Your grimoire?"
You extended your hand in front of you as your staff materialized in your hand
In the course of your last two weeks of training, you managed to learn how to make your staff disappear and reappear as you liked which was very helpful since carrying a stone staff everywhere did get tiring
"Eh! What's this?" The clerk backed away in shock
"This is my grimoire in some way" you replied
"Are you sure?" He was hesitant
"Look man, just give me my participation number so we can get this line moving and I can go as well" you sigh in irritation
"Right!" He replied in a shaky voice as he reached his arm out for your staff and his hand glowed white "Alright, you're number 103, please make your way"
You then made your way to the exam hall
The place was crowded, a thing you disliked, so you decided to remain in a corner, away from the center of the place
You weren't exactly somebody who was fond of crowed places
"What's up with these annoying birds?" A participant asked
"Anti-birds, the lower your magic power, the more birds you attract" one of the contestants replied to him
"Whatever" the guy sighed before noticing something "hold on, do you see that girl over there"
"There aren't any birds around her" he continued
"Who is she?" Another asked
"I was behind her in line earlier, you know she doesn't have a grimoire, instead she has this weird staff" a random spoke
"Is she from a high ranking family?"
"Doubt so, look at the way she's dressed, she doesn't even have any shoes"
This was to be expected
