Spencer's Perspective:
Spencer watched as his classmates shot arrows around him with a raised eyebrow. "Are you going to shoot an arrow Spencer?" Philip asked. Spencer narrowed his eyes towards him. "Don't need to." He replied. Philip backed off, but now Emilee was eyeing him. Inwardly, the hero groaned. He hated it when people were attached or attracted to him. It made him feel like he couldn't get anything done.
After class, Spencer ended up walking alongside Andrew, who, unlike the rest of the school besides Jacklin, didn't seem to fear him, as he asked, "So what else can you do?" Spencer gave him a glare in return, focusing his mind on Andrew's.
Andrew's eyebrow raised as Spencer's eyes changed from their usual dark brown color to a piercing yellow. "Mind control, huh?" Andrew asked. Spencer blinked in confusion. "How are you-" "Not hypnotized?" Andrew interrupted. "I can't get hypnotized dude. Edmund and Hudson say it's a big deal, but I seriously doubt that."
Spencer glanced around him in confusion. He had never met someone who couldn't be mind controlled before. Usually people who claimed that were simply harder to mind control. But Andrew wasn't even effected in the slightest. Spencer had to admit; that wasn't normal.
Not at all.
"Th-That's not..." He stumbled. "That's not normal Andrew." Andrew blinked, his expression saying that he expected that to come out. "I'm serious. I've never met somebody that couldn't be hypnotized or mind controlled." Spencer protested. "Usually people who claim that are simply harder to mind control, but they can still break. You didn't even crack when I used mind control on you." Andrew turned it over in his head before shrugging and turning away to head to his next class.
Spencer shook his head to clear his thoughts about the strange encounter. Maybe he could mention it to his dad after school? Yeah, that would be best.
Over the next several classes, Spencer had no need to cut into the lesson and use one of his powers, only using them to troll the teachers.
He lasered the chalkboard during his 'Mind-Control and When to Use It' class, froze the teacher during his gym class (which earned him a detention) and later used his superspeed while racing Scott Watts, picked up his 'How to Make Useful Gadgets' teacher, turned invisible during his 'How to Act Normal' class, lifted up all the desks during 'Supervillain Weaknesses' class (and getting an earful from Andrew), kept teleporting books and papers around the classroom during his science class, and flying during his 'Let's Strengthen Your Powers' class during freeze-tag.
But none of his classmates or teachers expected him to out-smart his Professor during his 'Human Body Structures and How Supers Vary From Them' class.
"...and while humans are intelligent, they are also easily tricked." Professor Johnson was saying. She drew something on the whiteboard. "That means they can be easily fooled while us supers are harder to trick because of our training." She turned to face the class. "That is why less-powerful supers are Side-Kicks."
"Have you ever thought about a human being more intelligent than 90% of the teachers here?" Spencer asked without bothering to raise his hand. "Because one of the Side-Kicks seems to have Super Intelligence despite the fact that he claims to have no powers."
"What do you mean?" The Professor asked. Spencer was smart enough to know that she was testing his knowledge on the subject. "Yes, the majority of humans are easy to trick. That's called being naive or gullible." Spencer started. "But I have ran into my far share of crazy-smart humans who have easily outsmarted my dad, who, as we all know, has Super Intelligence."
"My point is; not all humans are gullible or naive. Just the majority. Take Andrew for an example." Spencer paused. "It's the first day and he's already up in the Advanced Archery Class and he's already outsmarted one of his teachers. He's also next to impossible for me to Mind-Control, meaning it's not easy to get something out of him either. He's not gullible or naive despite the fact that he's surrounded by people that could easily break him."
The Professor was stunned. "I would have never have guessed." She commented, bewildered that a teenager would've found that out before her. "I will add that to my lecture for next time."
"Do you have Super Intelligence too?" Came Emilee's voice. "Yeah." Spencer turned to face her. "Why?" "That was hot." Spencer felt his face heat up. "Whatever." He replied, deciding to ignore her for the rest of the day. What does she want with me anyhow?
