I woke to Johnnie shrieking.
Followed by muffled, pounding footsteps.
Followed my door slamming open and then slammed shut.
"Kai!" Johnnie yelped, breathing hard and locking the door. He leaped into my bed and landed squarely on top of me, crushing me with his body. Although skinny (almost skinnier than I) he still had the ability to smother me.
This was one of those precious moments were I was very happy that I slept in a normal shirt and normal shorts.
"Kai." he whispered loudly, crawling under the blankets and huddling next to me. I could hear the happy playfulness in his voice. "It's Bryan." he whispered again, ducking his head under. I felt a very small blush colour my cheeks and I rolled my eyes. "What d-did you do this t-time?" I muttered as pounding footsteps came towards my room. "JOHNNIE!" I heard Bryan yell.
"I drank the last few monsters." he squeaked. "You've gotta help me."
I rolled my eyes and pushed him out of the bed. "Oh you baby." I said indignantly, swinging my bare legs out from under the blankets and letting my feet touch the carpet.
"Where's Jordan?" I asked, standing.
"Still sleeping." He replied quietly, his head peeking over the blankets he had crawled back under. Only his eyes peeped out, watching the door relentlessly.
"Then g-go and bother h-him instead." I grumbled, unlocking the door.
I immediately regretted it.
Bryan stormed in, knocking me to the floor. He made a beeline for Johnnie and strangled him, both of them laughing as Bryan feigned mock anger.
I smiled and giggled softly before leaving. I grabbed a stuffed blue turtle on the way out and stumbled down the hallway to Jordan's room.
Last night had been hectic. We had been planning for a group video well into the night and we had all decided to stay the night at Johnnie's and Bryan's apartment. I didn't mind, but I was rather tired and I was afraid to rub off my grouchiness on Bryan and the ever optimistic Johnnie.
I opened the door to the room Jordan was sleeping in and located him on the mattress, laying straight on his side with one arm under his head. I dropped down beside him and snuggled up against his back, stealing his blanket with a yawn. He stirred slightly. "Go... away... Johnnie..." he murmured, sleepily and half conscious, swatting lazily at me. "I'm n-not Johnnie." I grumbled, punching his back lightly. "Kai..." he mumbled before flipping over and cradling me in his grasp and fell asleep with his chin resting on my head. I was too tired to care, although somewhere inside me I felt small feelings blossoming. I cursed in my mind and pushed them down roughly to the bottom of my heart.
'Not today, feelings. Or ever." I sternly thought to myself as my eyes drifted closed heavily.
I heard Jordan mumble gibberish softly in his sleep. For a moment, I let my feelings resurface in order to ponder them. So you like Jordan, i questioned myself. You can't chase him. He's your friend. Close friend. You don't want to lose that, do you? I felt a small tear spring to my right eye and I struggled against the bonds of Jordan's arms to wipe it away softly, my finger barely brushing my cheek. I felt Jordan shift and he groaned softly. "Kai." he murmured, holding me tighter. "Why's it so freakin' cold?" I started to edge away slightly, not sure if he still wanted me to be laying with him. "B-because it's S-September, maybe?" I laughed sleepily. Instead of letting me escape, he pulled me back tighter against him and threw his leg over both of mine. I relaxed slightly as he played with my hair. I was beginning to close my eyes when a blaring alarm sounded and I jumped, freaking out. When I looked back at Jordan, his eyes were wide and awake.
