ALL THAT I EVER WANTED

Twenty : 1st DATE

Its a tough day for Rose family. I see everyone tensed out of the operation theater wandering here to there . Claire seemed upset too but the good news came and cheered everyone up.

I went on my regular rounds with other students hoping to see Dr.Rose in her ward. There she was ,I excused myself from the rest team and went to meet Claire. She seemed upset since morning and I felt bad for her. "Hi , everything alright? You okay ?" I asked concern filling my eyes. She brought her chin up and nodded passing a gentle smile. I pulled her to the canteen and brought her a frappe . She felt zoned out. "You know its dangerous for your heart to carry such a huge stress!" She tilted her eyes towards me and chuckled. "I am not stressing Tristan , its just Dr.Hayden said 48 hours are crucial for Grannie. She had to suffer a blood loss during surgery." Tears covered her face. " Claire , do you believe in God?" She nodded to a Yes and I understood it was appealing , "Its gonna be alright now. She'll wake up and be the same Dr.Rose we had around" I said taking her hand in mine comforting her.

Tomorrow's sunday and we have our 1st date planned. But I don't want to bring that up right now , it would be inappropriate. So , I began speaking about my experiences until now in all the departments and it seemed to interest her. While I talked she had a smile that was genuine. Talking and talking , just lots of talking which made Claire laugh and mingle atleast. "Ohh ! I've been paged to cardio , I'm gonna go and see you later? Tell me if you need something." I said and left to answer the page. It was open heart cardioectemy.

It's been hours since I met Claire and performed Cardioectemy for the 1st time. I think she might be busy with her parents. I opened the door to my washroom and suddenly got interrupted by a call. It was Claire. "Hey ! Did I wake you?" Claire asked gently excitement covering in for her sad tone. "No, fortunately I got up early despite it being a holiday. Is Dr.Rose Okay?" I asked realizing what was important that time. I could hear her sigh and some kind of traffic behind then she again spoke up ," Good for you that she woke up late last night, from a long sleep of hers. And now we wouldn't need to reschedule our date." Ohhh date! Oh God I totally forgot after deciding not to bring that topic up. "Yeah date! I thought you would want to force it to some other day after all was going on for now!"

I hoped that she says that we go now and there she was ,"I am fine Tristan and its sunday , lets get out of here and enjoy our 1st official date!" "Brilliant I'll meet you at Starbucks at 8 then " I told without noticing the clock which struck 7:30 and the look I got from the mirror staring towards me , showing how bad I looked. "Yea see you then." She replied. This was so unexpected , we just decided for a bus tour ride all over the city and I don't know now where the plans would land. Hopefully it turns memorable.

Ohh damn I don't have any clean clothes. All of them are in laundry and I am supposed to pick them up today. I guess I'll have to go with the one and only hoodie I am left with right now. Its 8:05 and I barged into the cafe noticing Claire sipping her coffee , dressed in a perfectly white but subtle dress. "You are late! On our 1st date!" She said sarcastically smiling . I ordered myself a coffee and got ready for an explanation. "Its fine , I am early its not your fault." She said relieving the tension I was supposed to suffer.

Its a pleasant day. Incredibly suitable for a date. And this ride is making it more memorable for both of us. Siting next to her is making me happy. This feeling is so soothing , relaxing. We admired the whole city , along which I admired her too. She is just Perfect.

"I wanted to end our date with a happy meal and this is the best restaurant I wanted with you to explore." I said executing the plan. "I like it , the vibe , the food and most importantly.......!" She hesitated but spit it out soon "You". Sooner or later I had to confess , "I like you too Claire. I love being around you." Her smile was getting so allergic to my heart. My heart couldn't handle much of it but just smile.

Day spent well. I decided to drop her home , a miles away. We walked through there silently just enjoying each others company. Hand in hand. I could see her blush under . "There it is ! My house!" This soon . I wish I could stay longer but . I left her hand hanging back and tried to say bye , suddenly she pulled me over and kissed me softly on my right cheek . My cheeks turned red. I turned to walk away but couldn't resist to call her once more and say, "Claire, see you tomorrow? Bye" She turned and smiled and disappeared in that door. That was the perfect night I couldn't imagine of.
