Twenty One : THE DREAM

Dr. Rose's surgery went well and thankfully she got up after few hours, resulting it to be a success. We hoped for her to wake up in 2days as she had some complications during surgery, but she proved herself a fighter. Of course A surgeon knows what duration matters and what not.

Claire , from the last time looked more relieved and happy. That little kiddo is interesting tons of emotions. Last time I saw her at my house, admiring it greatfully with a happy emotion and when I said her grandma needs surgery immediately she leaves. It's a hard part watching your loved one in the OR, that's what we doctor's have to survive.

"Thank you so much Dr. Hayden, You made it happen. I couldn't be more grateful to you and your team" Claire said balancing her voice over tears and smile. I might sound rude but it was necessary to say, "My pleasure Ms.Rose, but next time examine the situation as a Doctor and then decide what emotion to select. This time it's your grannie, but you might get the same attachment from your patients and your emotions could ruin any part of their survival. " Okay that was way too rude Hayden. Her smile vanished and I know she was confused over the situation to take in the advice. She is a good learner I suppose, she might catch it up soon.

The only thing I needed was a hardcore sleep on my comfy bed all alone. I don't admire companies anymore. That's what that kept me from re-marriage. Earlier I was the one advicing Claire over the emotion control and now I am getting mood swings. Stella was always right about me being cranky and rude after spending multiple hours in the OR. Even she named me an OR-FREAK, just because I spent more time in my OR than with my wife. God! I was so dumb, a stupid idiot. Stella always had plans made and I was the ruinner there. Prioritizing my patients caught me so tight that I couldn't spend enough time with my poor Stella.

Thoughts came under control and sleep caught me. "Ohh Hayden, leave me alone. That's wrong. " I heard a voice echoing in my dreams shouting and yelling my name again and again for the rescue. I couldn't see the face but got up with my heart throbbing tightly. Ohh God! This dream almost killed me. I save lives. I don't put them in danger.

Okay that was a hell of a sleep, left midway by that stupid dream. I wonder who that girl was? Anyways I got ready soon and went downstairs where Gargie already had my breakfast prepared. She is the one right now to clarify the needs.

"There you are, my charming Neurosurgeon! " Tessa exclaimed hugging me. I already got informed about her incoming from the Chief Dr. Robert Wilkinson. "Aren't you surprised or wondering what am I doing at your work place? " She asked. "I already knew that you were joining as the head of Cardiothoracic department. So huhhh brother and sister, together slicing open brains and eating hearts!? How does that sound?! " Okay that's what my bond says. Tessa's the only one closereft to me right now. And  she is the best "Cardiac surgeon of the country" Awarded doctor. I must say we have some good surgical traits in our genes.

"It's okay Claire, I can say that myself" I overheard Dr. Rose say that. "Huh! Here I am ! Ready to listen the mistakes I made over your surgery! Dr. Rose." She didn't wait a second and I didn't expect to take out mistakes but she did, " Dr. Hayden my sutures are literally 2mm apart, that's what the rule says about suturing? And for the dressing you use detol as an antiseptic! What Is this a joke?..... " And she continued until she blabbed all the things that according to her went Wrong. I listened and noted, after all she was the best surgeon.

"I am sorry Dr. Hayden, she is just like that, she doesn't take any mistakes in medical fields. " Claire apologized. I didn't say anything but just stared at her for a whole minute. Confusion caught her face reading the smile I put on. Brushing off those immediate illetracy level thoughts I said, "It's her Right to shout at me, after all she has all the knowledge and experience! " I smiled and left. Ohh God! This girl is making me sick!
