Ron POV:
I lie down on my bed and stare up at the roof. It felt like a tornado of thoughts spinning through my head. And they all had to do with Toto.
I grab a packet of black sugar syrup from my nightstand and drink it as I try to calm my thoughts.
There was no denying it. My behavior today, and the way I've acted toward Toto the past month made it all clear. I like Toto more than I thought.
I want to hold him, treat him nice, go on cases with him and even places we don't usually go together, like the beach! The warm sand under our feet, Toto's hand in mine, his smile that is brighter than the sun itself. It all sounds like a dream! Once Toto is back I'll bring him to a beach and we can enjoy the day there. Just the two of us.
My phone buzzes with a notification. I check it and see Spitz had just sent me the location.
I was glad, but now that I had it I was sure of what to do: I'll go over to the scene, call the police station and tell them a man has been abducted. Once the police are on their way I'll just have to......wait.....
I groan. I don't want to wait not knowing if Toto is alright or not. What if they are hurting him right now?! I need to know if he's okay or not! But if I do wait outside I won't get caught sleuthing! It's a very frustrating thing to think about.
I could barely sleep that night, but when I did I had a dream. It was fuzzy but plainly clear. It was the beach. The crashing waves, the sand, the sun, and him. My Toto. His face was blurry but I could tell he was smiling.
When I woke up the next day I immediately called Spitz. When he answered it was another man's voice with Spitz yelling in the background. "Who is this?" It was a rough and husky voice, you could tell he just finished smoking a cigarette.
I grin. "If you look at the caller ID you should be able to see who I am. But that aside who are you?"
"Ron, eh? What do you want with our new friend here?" The man over the phone said.
"Judging by your voice you are a man in their late 40's. A small beard at the bottom of your chin, large tattoos, and a bald scalp, am I right?" I was trying to keep my voice calm but this guy was pissing me off.
There was silence on the other end of the phone. Then a burst of laughter. "Well I'll be damned!" Then another voice from in the background called out to the guy. "Suma! If we don't get this police guy in the holding room we'll never drag the guy boss wants us to out here!"
And before I could ask a question the phone call ended. Suma... Odd name. They are using Toto to drag someone there, but who? Down to all the connections I know they could possibly want only three people. Amamiya-kun, Otimo Kawasemi, or myself.
"Fuck..." I mutter to myself. These things would normally be so simple for me, so why am I struggling? Is it because I'm stressed?
I sit down on the floor and attempt to meditate. Nothing good will come out of a stressed mind.
And before I knew it, I fell asleep.
It was dim and I could see a familiar silhouette. I run over to it but before I could reach it I hear a loud BANG! The silhouette fell as it had been shot. I rush over to it and see Toto in front of me on the floor bleeding from his chest. I rush down to him and hold my hand on his wound. "TOTO! NO! TOTO STAY WITH ME! YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO DIE! TOTO!" I yelled.
"This is all your fault, Ron..." He said in his dying breath. I saw the light in his eyes fade.
I wake up with a start, covered in cold sweat. I grab a packet of black sugar syrup and drink it.
My mind rushed with thoughts. Good ones, bad ones, useful ones. None of them seemed to be helping. Not even black sugar syrup is working.
That damn dream...Heyo! Jay Spades here! Once more I will apologize for my incorrect grammar and spelling, it is not my strong suit. I really hope you enjoyed this chapter!
With that~
See you in the next chapter! ;)
