Destiny rubbed her temples the pressure in her mind was growing at every second. She glanced across the empty table where her ex husband used to sit. She could hear his voice still ringing in her head. "Another late night ? Why can't you be a wife and stay home !" he screamed his face a deep scarlet. " I worked my ASS off to get this position ! I refuse to let you try to convince me to stop so I can serve your lazy ass all day". She sighed heavily  pushing her plate away her hunger dissipating. She looked over to her desk at the mountain of files calling to her. The throbbing in her head intensified as she recalled another fight with her horrible ex husband. " You're always bringing this shit home!, No wonder we never have time to have kids or be with our family!" He was ranting again and Destiny was uninterested in this conversation. "Your mother hates me and is constantly on my back about having kids but she has no idea her useless son is infertile! You refuse to tell her and would rather have her blame me for the problems in our marriage". Paul's face fell slightly shock written all over his face. He wasn't expecting her to talk back to him. " Well you know how she is" he faltered slightly unable to defend himself. " Well maybe you should just be honest with her" Destiny began to walk away " I want a divorce if you don't quit your job and become the housewife my mother wants" Paul spit at her back. She stopped dead in her tracks feeling the smug grin spreading across Paul's face. Instead of turning to face him she walked over to her desk shuffled through a few papers before landing on the documents she needed. She pulled out a pen quickly filled out the necessary information and tossed the documents down at his feet. The grin Paul once wore was replaced with a deep frown, he wasn't ready for this he was hopeless without her money and he knew it.

Destiny pushed the painful memories away and sifted through the case reports before her. There was another missing persons report she hadn't pondered over yet. Now was as good a time as any. Kate Singleton was still missing and her husband was dead, their bank accounts had been drained already. But where could she have gone? Her friends and family were certain that she wasn't the type to cheat or just disappear. Destiny read over her file desperate for a clue or to find something she was missing. There was nothing to be found unfortunately and she knew it. It was moments like this she wished for a distraction. Then the phone rang, the caller ID was unfamiliar to her. "Hello this I-" She was cut off by a loud screeching voice " HOW DARE YOU!" it was her worst nightmare... her ex mother in-law. "You leave my amazing baby boy and you have the nerve to keep his house and his money!!! Now he's stuck here living with me and wasting away all my money instead!"Destiny placed the phone down and went to double check her locks all set. She was certain no one knew her new address or that she had moved, she picked up the phone impatiently awaiting the tirade of insults soon to come. " I plan to march right over there first thing tomorrow to have you removed from that house and my son will be moving back in right away. We will be taking that money back from you as well and another thing..." Destiny placed the phone on the table and marched up to her bedroom for some much needed sleep. Her ex mother in-law was in for a big surprise and so was her deadbeat son. Not that it was her problem anymore. Tomorrow was going to prove to be a challenging day at work.
