My eyes fluttered open as the morning sun peeked through a crack in the blinds, casting a warm glow over the room. I stirred beneath the covers, feeling a dull ache in my lower back that made it difficult to sit up comfortably.
"Bosco, are you awake?"
I looked up to see Daya sitting next to me in bed, his blue eyes filled with concern.
"Uh, yeah," I groaned, awkwardly shifting my weight. "My ass is so sore."
Daya's eyes widened, and his face paled. "Oh shit, was last night too much?"
I shook my head, trying to reassure him. "No, no, it was amazing, it's just... you know, aftermath."
Daya seemed to relax slightly. "Okay, well, just take it easy. I'll go make us some breakfast."
As he got out of bed, I glanced into the living room and noticed the two others slumped on the couch. Crystals curls hanging from the back of the couch and Lux lying with her head on him.
"Daya I am scarred, I heard you guys fucking last night," Lux teased, her voice carrying through the open doorway.
Crystal groaned and covered his face with a pillow. "My head hurts."
"Number one we were quiet thank you very much, and number two I'm not surprised it's sore you big baby did you see how fucked up you were?" Daya teased them like they were his siblings it was so nice to see.
I watched as Daya rolled his eyes and went to the kitchen. He returned a few minutes later with a bowl of cereal and a glass of water for me.
"Thank you," I said, gratefully reaching for the food.
As I ate, Daya sat next to me on the bed, looking concerned. "So, what are we doing today?" He called out to the pair in the living room so they could have a say.
Lux leaned forward on the couch. "Is Bosco okay? You guys are scaring me in there,"
Daya hesitated, then cleared his throat. "Well, she's a little sore, but..."
Lux finished his sentence for him. "Let me gues, if last night has anything to do with it I'm assuming she can't sit down,"
Daya nodded, blushing.
Lux and Crystal exchanged amused glances before playfully shaking their heads.
"Well, the science museum is always a good day out," Lux suggested leaning her head forwards so she could see us in the bedroom.
"I like that idea," Crystal said, sitting up and stretching. "My head is feeling a little better."
The Seattle Science Center was a cacophony of delighted gasps and childish laughter. It was the perfect place for a group outing, and the three big kids I brought with me were all in their element, tearing through exhibits, testing out gravity defying contraptions, and giggling at the optical illusions. Me? I was lagging behind, struggling to walk with a certain, shall we say, 'looseness' in my legs.
"You okay, Bosco?" Crystal, with his flamboyant brown mullet and thick-rimmed glasses perched precariously on his nose, wagged a playful finger at me. "You look like you've ran a marathon!"
This was, of course, not far from the truth. The previous night had been...intense, to put it mildly. And Daya, all 6 foot five of him had been particularly... enthusiastic.
"It's just the museum, Crystal," I said, trying to sound casual. "So many... stairs."
"Oh, I see," Crystal winked. "You're still feeling the aftermath of Daya's... stamina."
