MAYA HAD BEEN STRUGGLING with getting Hannah's attention all day. They'd been working non-stop for days after the early morning they spent together, Hannah deep in researching everything and anything that could give any information around the topics Maeve had instructed them to dig deeper into, while Maya had been working on finding locations like a mad-man. Truth be told, they hadn't a single clue if their request would be approved, or if it would be approved for one or two, not all three – yet they still did what they could to be best prepared.
"Dean, this is not a band," Maya sighed into the phone, struggling to come through while Dean happily told her stories of how it had been for him while he photographed for The Vamps. "These are three separate people, to be photographed on separate days."
"So? I had to photograph the boys separately too, even though they were in a band," Dean scoffed, sounding rather unimpressed with her arguments. "But hey, I gotta bolt – let me know how it all works out, yeah?"
"Will do, have fun with whatever you're doing."
Maya had barely even had the chance to hang up and place her phone on the desk, before Hannah was at her side, a to-go cup filled with iced tea in her hands. "Who was that? The mystery man you drank wine with the other night?" The journalist narrowed her eyes, not once letting her gaze drop from Maya's face – paying close attention to see if there was any reaction ( and she was looking for anything, whether it be a nervous swallow, twitching lips or whatever nervous tic it could be ). "Come on, Maya, you don't like wine, why would you just be drinking it on your own?"
"Hannah," Maya sighed, leaning back in her chair. "Who are you to say I can't do a private taste-test of wines in the comfort of my own home?" She scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest, patiently waiting for Hannah to continue – though never actually giving the journalist a chance to speak. "Oh, and before you even think of saying it – there really is no better place to taste-test wines than at home, alright? It's a whole lot cheaper than going out to pretty much any place that offers a wine-testing menu."
"Actually, that's a lie, and we both know it," Hannah pointed out, rather triumphantly. "I know of plenty places where a wine-tasting would be much cheaper than whatever you did."
"I was, of course, thinking of a place where I wouldn't be using your fiancé's good name to get any special deals," Maya rolled her eyes, turning her gaze back to the computer screen, which now was dark. "For your information, the person on the phone was Dean Sherwood. He's not my boyfriend, and I do not have any romantic feelings towards him – in fact, him and I were sharing ideas and thoughts for the possible Bridgerton-shoots."
