chapter 3.

Although Lampert enjoyed staying at Infected's apartment, he knew he would have to go home soon.

"Thanks for letting me stay these past few days, but I should really get home. My dads are probably worried sick." Lampert said, though he knew they could probably care less.

"Alright, just look out for yourself, 'kay?" Infected said.

"I will." Lampert smiled weakly at him. He walked out of the room and headed to the elevator, putting a couple of coins in the slot and pressing the button for his floor. He noticed that Split was on the elevator, too.

"Hey Lampert!" She said to him.

"Hey, Split." Lampert sighed.

"What's wrong? You should really 'brighten' up a bit!" She giggled a bit at her joke. Lampert smiled at it but didn't answer her question. The elevator dinged and the door opened to Lampert's stop. He sighed and exited the elevator, waving goodbye to Split. He walked over to his house and sighed before opening the door, only to see his dads sitting at the kitchen table, Mark staring at him angrily and Wallter looking away.

"Where the hell have you been?!" Mark exclaimed. "I've been worried sick!"

"Dad, please-"

"Your father and me are getting a divorce." Wallter interrupted.

"What-?!" Lampert cried.

"Which you would've know if ye hadn't ran away wiv that skater boy fer 3 days." Mark said. Lampert had a look of confusion and anger on his face.

"Forget this." Lampert's parents were yelling at him, but he tuned them out and ran up the stairs to his bedroom. He slammed the door behind him and locked it. His breathing was heavy and shaky. All he wanted was a way out. A way out from all of the fighting, the yelling. He got up and headed to the bathroom. He leaned on the sink and stared at himself in the mirror. He spotted a razor blade out of the corner of his eye. Then he had an idea. He picked up the blade and stared at it for a moment.

Then he started to cut.
