ELLA'S POV

I wake up, my whole body is in excruciating pain. I don't know where I am, or why I am wherever it is I am - but I don't recognise this place. It's, what looks like, a hospital room.

That's when everything comes rolling back to me. I remember the pain, my screaming, the ambulance... then nothing.

Even though it hurts like hell, I push the call button - meaning that, a few moments later, a nurse comes in.

"Ah, Mrs Warner, you're awake." The lady smiles.

As she walks over to the many machines that are attached to me, my attention focuses to out the window, well, what's beyond it, I can see that it's sunrise. When I was taken in the ambulance, it was night.

My eyes dart around the room, trying to piece together any and all information on what happened. To that, I am lost. I have no memory of the events after I was taken in the ambulance.

"Mrs Warner?" The lady says as though she's been calling my name softly for hours.

"O-oh, yes, sorry." I never knew speaking could hurt like this. No, scratch that, I didn't think breathing could hurt this much.

"Would you like us to call your husband?" She presses some buttons on the machines that surround me.

I nod. "Yes please." I try and smile, but to be honest, I am far to tired to even care about trying.

She finishes up whatever she is going and then says, "okay, I'll be right back," before leaving the room.

Once she's gone, all that remains is me and the sounds of the many monitors that enclose me.

Beep beep beep beep beep

Now, I am no doctor, but I think the beeping means that everything is okay?! Maybe I'm wrong, but the smooth pace makes me think that I am not dying.

"Your husband is on his way." In comes the same lady.

AARON'S POV

I wake up to my phone ringing, the caller ID reading; unknown. I instantly answer, in case it's something regarding Ella.

"Hello?" I speak.

"Hi," a lady's voice comes from the phone. "Are you Mr Aaron Warner?"

"Yes," I reply, "I am."

"Your wife, Mrs Ella Warner, has woken up from her comatose state."

Oh my god! This is the best news!

"I-..." I struggle to put together a sentence. "Is she okay?"

The nurse chuckles in a happy way. "Yes, sir, she is, would you like to come and see her, she is asking for you."

Before she can even finish that sentence I am out the hours and in the car, driving to the hospital.

I arrive at the hospital and bolt towards the front desk. "My wife has woken up and I need her room number!" I breathe. "Her name is Ella Warner!"

The receptionist looks at me like I might be crazy, but types something on his computer, before telling me her room number. "360."

I run to the elevator and push to go to floor three. "Come on, come on, come on!" I say to the machinery.

Ping

The elevator doors open and I'm running faster than a fucking cheater, to my wife's room.

Room 360!

I run into the room and see her, sat up, uncomfortably, in her hospital bed.

"Ella!" I rush to her bedside. "Are you okay, love?" I take her warm and soft, hand.

She gives me a pained smile. "Yes, I'm alright."

Though it's very clear that she is, in fact, not okay. "No, how are you really feeling, love?"

She blinks away tears. "I'm in a lot of pain." She sniffles. "It's burning."

I wipe her eyes and press the call button. "It's alright love, I'm going to make sure you have the best medicine."

She nods, closing her eyes in clear pain.

I hate seeing her like this. I hate that I am absolutely helpless. There is nothing I can do.

Part 4?

I'm ashamed of how short this chapter is, but I think where I wrapped it up, it makes sense to end the chapter there.
