Eighteen and Boundless?

An age where possibilities dance with glee,
Kiddo but, you're just eighteen, you see.
There is still a whole life ahead, so don’t worry,
So, slow down kid, there's no need for you to hurry.

No Dad I can’t, the whole world is left to explore,
In every corner, mysteries and stories to adore.
Every day I ponder, with a thoughtful frown,
To slow down my pace and let serenity crown.

But then I think what if, in the quiet, I miss a beat,
A chance encounter, a melody sweet?
Truthfully, Dad, I promise each sunrise and sunset every day,
That I will meet them again on a different bay.

I want to see every goddamn place,
Reflects the beauty of our shared space.
Cause, as responsibilities and age engage,
I'll also embrace the shifts, the turning page.

And with every new experience, new memories accrue,
So, tomorrow I can tell another new story to you.
But Kiddo what about your other dreams and passion?
Dad, I am just eighteen you see,
There is still a whole life ahead, so don’t worry.
