Ch 7- The Lovers: Her

"I just loved you.."

Something Rocky didn't realize was the extent of his love. Just like how a devotee with extreme devotion can bring even the Lord to Earth, even in the Kali Yuga, Rocky's pure love and devotion for Shivangi was so true at that moment that those words reached the one they were aimed at. As a mortal, having such pure love for someone else is simply impossible because mortal love and selfishness usually go hand in hand. "I can't live without you", "I just want to be with you", "I need you" and so on, there are different faces of love. But, at that moment, Rocky only cared for Shivangi, even if that meant he would never see her. Even if she hates him forever. Even if their story never has a happy ending. All he wanted was peace and happiness for his beloved. 

Rocky's mind slowly started getting corrupted with grief and anger. But that moment before was enough. To change everything.

About the same time...

Shesha was back at the Thakshak temple in Rocky's form. She had removed the Naagmani from the ShivLinga and had placed it on her hand. All Naags and Naagins know that denying the Naagmani it's 50 full moons slumber is cursed and will be punished. However, they could not stand against Shesha and could only hail her decision. Or 'his' decision. They knew that as long as they stood with him, he would help Thakshak lok as well.

Shesha's eyes were sparkling with greed as she adored the Naagmani in her hands. The sun started setting and the whole Thakshak lok was celebrating. The Naagmani started glowing bright.

And, the brightness only grew. The brightness grew stronger and stronger until everyone was blinded by it. 'I have never seen anything like this', Shesha thought. She held onto the Naagmani with all her might. All of a sudden, the brightness was out. Like someone had turned off a switch. Shesha's hands suddenly felt empty as she realized her fingers were now clutched together in a fist. She opened her eyes in surprise to find her hands empty. "Where is it? Where did the Naagmani go?" she screamed.

A few snakes in the group exclaimed, "It vanished into thin air!"

However, it wasn't a mystery at all as to where it had gone. It had appeared on the Shiv Linga of the Shiv-Shakthi temple. The sun had set. The Naagmani was supposed to go into it's slumber by now. Instead, it was responding to the prayers of someone who only had his beloved's blood on his hands.

Shesha unknowingly paved the way for her own destruction. If she had controlled her urge to visit Rocky, she would have succeeded in her mission. But she gave in to her hatred and ended up giving Rocky the key to revive Shivangi. Her blood. Shivangi's blood connected Shivangi, Rocky and the Naagmani.

Even though no power is supposed to interfere in their fate, the Naagmani couldn't ignore such true love and devotion.

The Naagmani shined brightly all over the temple. The Sheshnag snakes, who were worried of their future after losing Naagmani, were drawn into the temple by the amazing brightness.

About the same time...

Rocky and Rithik were on the floor still not over the fact that everything is over. Rocky was still crying, his thoughts filled with Shivangi. He was reliving all of those beautiful moments they shared. The day he met Shivangi, the snow storm later, the moment Shivangi confessed her feelings, their marriage..  The thoughts always ended with the realization that he can never see her again. He was sharing those memories with Rithik. Rithik listened to them like a child who was hearing fairy tales.

"I still remember how Shivangi looked at me when I was faking an engagement with someone else. That day, I just wanted to hurt her. I thought she was using me and never loved me. Even when she asked me to stop it, I thought she was faking her tears so that she could get into the house to kill my family. That day, I was angry at myself for how blind I was in love with her that I did not realize she was killing my family. But, now when I remember her eyes.. " Rithik kept a hand on his shoulder to calm Rocky down. "You couldn't have known."

Rocky started tearing up. "I remember what she asked that day, 'Do you hate me that much Rocky?' I looked right into her eyes and told her that I hated her the most." Rocky's voice was breaking up. "Whatever little time we had, those were filled with misunderstandings and hatred. And so, we don't even have spent enough time loving each other that we can't recognize each other. If only we realized the truth earlier..."

Suddenly, Rithik noticed something. "How did that happen? Rocky, look at your hands!" Rocky looked down and he was surprised to see his hands, that were earlier red, now clean. Rocky suddenly looked upwards and realized what this meant. "This could only mean that.."

"Shivangi is alive!" Rithik completed it. "See, now it is just a matter of time until she finds us. Don't loose hope."

But, Rocky was not happy. A small tear trickled down from his eye. He wondered what more pain she would have to go through now. He closed his eyes and prayed for Shivangi. "Please protect her Lord! She has gone through too much. Please don't make her fate more twisted."

Now that the blood had vanished, the 3 were no longer bound to each other.

In the Shiv-Shakthi temple after a while..

Shivangi was taking in all the information about Rocky from Naagmani. She simply couldn't believe that Rocky suddenly changed. It just doesn't make any sense. 'There must be a reason.' She told herself. 'Rocky can't be just after Naagmani. I trust him. However, I need to know the truth. But he did not budge even when I begged him before my death. Maybe he wants to carry that burden himself and wanted to relieve me from it through death. But if Rocky is right, why would Naagmani bring me back? None of this makes sense. Should I find Rocky again?'

Even though Shivangi's heart wanted to go find Rocky, she did not move. Because a small 'What if?' still remained in her. She wasn't ready to face the truth if the truth was that Rocky never loved her and just used her to get Naagmani. Yamini was ready to ruin her entire family's life and Shesha betrayed her own sister just for Naagmani. Then, crossing blood relations, why can't Rocky have the same intentions? A small tear started forming in her left eyes. 'I don't understand what to do now... Would Rocky really just kill me for Naagmani?? If he is really evil, then that would mean I have to kill him. No! There has to be some other explanation.'

 Suddenly she remembered someone who could help her. "Gurudev!"

She again touched the Naagmani to know what happened to Gurudev. But she was too late. The Naagmani stopped shining and looked like a simple stone. It had started it's next 50 full moons slumber. Actually, The Naagmani was not even supposed to be active before because the moon had already risen. It was their love (yes, not just Rocky, Shivangi loved Rocky so much that she was ready to give up everything for him) that made Naagmani help them.

"No, what happened to Gurudev?"

She realized that the Naagmani could not help her anymore and decided to leave it to the Lord. It disappeared right in front of her.

Shivangi decided to go to the SheshNag temple to find Gurudev there.
