- Eliza's POV -

⚠️ DISCLAIMER: TALKS OF VOMIT ⚠️

I stood in front of the mirror, pondering what to wear to my friend's party. I was an avid party goer so this wasn't hard. My dog, Prince, hobbled into my room through the cracked door followed by my mom. My mom didn't care about the parties or the booze or the slutty dresses. All she seemed to care about nowadays was my grades, seemingly taking a big interest in them.
"Honey, what time are you coming home?" she asked me. I looked up at her from my closet, pulling out a pair of black stilettos.
"I dunno. Probably late," I replied, sitting on my unmade bed.
"Okay well maybe get home a little earlier. You need to study for the history exam coming up." I tilted my head. This had never come up before. It was usually just: Be home by midnight, keep your ringer on and be careful. Now I had to come home early to study? I nodded, trying to get her out. She smiled quickly and walked out of the room with Prince. I winced, pulling on my black mini dress and sliding on my black heels. Suddenly, my phone pinged. I looked at it and disregarded all of the other notifications except for one. It was Seth.

I sat down at my chair, not even trying to hide my smile. He had offered to drive me. Why was he even going? How did he know I was going? Was he just being nice? I came to the conclusion that he was just being nice. He wanted to save the environment by carpooling. I finished piling on setting spray and powder when I heard a distant honking. I looked out my window to see his small gray Sedan in front of my house. I waved at him and he looked up, waving back and smiling at me. I closed my window swiftly and grabbed my Michael Kors purse.
"Okay, bye guys!" I yelled from my front door. It was directed towards my parents but they didn't look up from Friends. Same old, same old. His car was stopped haphazardly in front of my door. I opened the passenger door and sat inside. It smelled like an overpriced pine air freshener. But at least it didn't smell like Axe body spray.
"Your car smells good." I cringed at the fact that I just said that, not even a simple hi.
"Thanks." He looked perfect. His hair was a little messy but it looked good. He smelled like an expensive perfume and he was wearing a white linen shirt with slacks. And here I was, wearing a Bath and Body Works perfume and a discount dress from Macy's. He drove carefully and steadily, which made me feel safe.
"Mind if I change the radio?" I asked.
"Go ahead," he replied. "Are you just gonna play Taylor Swift?" I rolled my eyes and scanned the radio stations for anything good.
"You know what? I bet you $20 that you dance around to Shake It Off in the shower. And don't you lie," I laughed, pointing my finger at him. He laughed along with me but I knew he was secretly embarrassed.
"No way. I've never even heard Shake It Off." My mouth dropped open and he glanced at me as he pulled into Hannah's driveway. She had the biggest house out of everybody in our high school. I think it's because her dad invented something stupid. But at least she's rich.
"I'm going to make Hannah play Shake It Off for you. You deserve to hear it at least once in your life," I said, smiling at him.
"You better not, Liza." He got out of the car and walked to my side, opening the door for me. I smiled, clutching my purse as we walked into the party.
