Blossom petals kept falling to the ground, painting a delicate canvas outside the classroom window. In Seoul, the arrival of spring brought with it not just beauty but a lightness that permeated the air, easing the weight of exhaustion from endless nights of study. As I gazed out, the soft strains of music from my headphones blended seamlessly with this seasonal serenade. My pen tapped an absent-minded rhythm against the textbook, echoing my reluctance to focus. Today was one of those days where the allure of the city's serene pulse tempted me to drift away from my studies.
Just then, the classroom door creaked open. San and Wooyoung entered, their hands entwined, a quiet bubble of joy in their whispered exchanges, their smiles reflecting a shared secret. Following in their wake were Yunho and Jongho, adding to the sense of camaraderie that filled the room.
They settled into the seats right behind me. As they did, San reached forward and playfully slapped the top of my head, pulling me back from my reverie with a jolt. I turned to face them, my irritation fading as quickly as it had flared, replaced by a reluctant smile. Their infectious energy was a reminder of the joy in these everyday moments, even if studies seemed an insurmountable task.
"San'ah!" I warned, my words tinted with amusement as I caught his gaze for a brief moment. However, his playful nature won out, and he squeezed my cheek with a mischievous grin.
"How the hell did you ditch your date?" he demanded lightly, his tone teasing yet probing.
I averted my gaze, feeling a twinge of guilt. "I had studies. Some of us actually need to work hard to get somewhere, spoiled brat," I retorted softly, the words a gentle jab wrapped in sincerity.
Just then, the door swung open again, pulling our attention away from the banter. Yeosang entered, his presence usually calm and collected, but this time he was followed by someone new. My curiosity piqued, I lifted my eyes to meet the newcomer.
The guy stepping in had an ethereal quality about him, with slightly longer hair that was neatly parted to frame his face, giving him the appearance of a living doll. His cheeks were naturally rosy, and his lips perfectly shaped, capturing an almost sculpted beauty. However, realizing I was staring, I quickly shifted my focus back to my textbook.
"Omg, Seonghwa!" Wooyoung's voice pierced the air with a delighted squeal, his excitement unmistakable and infectious.
Wooyoung hurried over to Seonghwa, his enthusiasm visible in the bounce of his steps. The two embraced, a reunion filled with laughter and patting backs enthusiastically.
"Look at you! It's been ages since you've graced us with your presence," Wooyoung exclaimed, stepping back to better look at Seonghwa. The admiration in his eyes was palpable as he took in the changes.
