" 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐞𝐦 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐡𝐢𝐦."
As I rode to school on Monday morning with San and Wooyoung, I braced myself for the inevitable teasing. My close moment with Hongjoong in the treehouse had been just that—momentary curiosity about what kissing someone felt like. I knew they wouldn't let it go easily. As we pulled up to the school, Wooyoung turned around, a knowing smile playing on his lips as he leaned closer.
"What was that about with Seonghwa in the tree house before we came in? I saw you and Hongjoong nearly kissed," he teased, his tone light but probing.
I quickly shook my head, trying to dismiss the topic with a casual shrug. "We didn't—we were actually talking about what love feels like from his perspective," I explained, aiming to deflect the conversation away from anything too personal.
Wooyoung raised an eyebrow, clearly not entirely convinced. "Really? Just a deep chat about love, huh?" he replied, his voice dripping with skepticism.
I nodded, maintaining my casual demeanor despite the heat I could feel rising to my cheeks. "Yes, really. It's not what you think," I insisted, hoping to steer the conversation toward safer waters.
San chuckled from the driver's seat, glancing at us in the rearview mirror. "Sounds like a pretty intense discussion for just hanging out in a treehouse," he added, joining in on the teasing.
"Guys, seriously, it was nothing," I responded, feeling a bit more flustered but trying to keep the atmosphere light. "Can we just drop it?"
Wooyoung and San exchanged amused looks but decided to relent, at least for the moment. "Alright, we'll let it go... for now," Wooyoung conceded with a wink, turning back around in his seat.
As we gathered our things and headed toward the school building, I couldn't help but replay the conversation with Hongjoong in my mind. Despite my attempts to brush it off as curiosity, his words about love had struck a deeper chord, leaving me to wonder about the true nature of love.
Despite Wooyoung and San dropping the subject, I could tell they were still curious, occasionally sending me glances that suggested the conversation wasn't quite finished for them. As we walked through the school gates, San broke the silence again, this time with a more serious tone.
"So, you guys were really just talking about love?" he asked, looking at me intently. "That's kind of deep for a random hangout, don't you think?"
I sighed, knowing this topic wasn't going away as easily as I had hoped. "Yeah, it was deep, but it wasn't planned. We just started talking about different things, and it led to that," I explained, trying to sound nonchalant but feeling the weight of their curiosity.
