Locked Gazes

Chapter 2

"Kuys!" Marius gave him a manly handshake, whatever, and he's alone?

His tall figure towered over the three of us and this was the first time I had ever seen him in a bar! We used to avoid the thought of engaging ourselves in such activities, we used to believe that entertaining ourselves to participate in practices that would only show people that we were still available would not make do for our relationship.

Look how the tables had completely turned...

Heather pulled my arm before I could react and we were greeted by a tipsy-looking Mikael, eyes wide and arms open.

"Olivia!" He hugged me, laughed after, and looked at Heather while drinking his glass. Bacardi Gold. "Nadala ka nito ah!"

"Nagpasama," sagot ni Heather as if I'm a kid that needs chaperone.

Tumawa si Mikael at tinuro si Rhae na nakikipag sayaw kay Kyle. Mukhang hindi sumama sila Colette. Nagpakita ako sa kanila at sabay-sabay kaming nag-ingay at yakap.

"Girl! Drink!" Lapit ni Rhae sa bibig ko ng baso, pareho sa iniinom ni Mikael! I took a lemon and salt after and turned to Kyle.

"I'm here na!"

"Dapat lang!" She laughed, and pulled Heather, letting us four girls enjoy the beat! It's a song I recall by... Tyla?

"Hindi mo kasama si Louis?" I asked her and she shook her head, mukhang busy ang boyfriend nya. Hindi usually nasama sa'min si Kyle kaya medyo naengganyo rin talaga akong sumama.

"Oh! Tangina, humabol!" Tawa ni Ken, inangatan ako ng kilay. Ryan stood next to him, having the same reaction, and the music changed to 'The Boy is Mine' by Ariana Grande.

Lalong lumabot ang sayaw namin, "Kailangan ko!" I laughed hard, projecting this sadness into my superficial joy.

"'Di mo na ata kailangan uminom," turo sa'kin ni Ryan and I felt butterflies in my stomach, looking at his smirk... He's tall, masculine, and an athlete. Kahit na nasa circle siya... Type ko talaga.

I'm not even sure if it was me or the alcohol thinking.

"Anong hindi, shot!" Mikael interfered and raised glasses, suddenly, may baso na 'rin pala kami ni Heather and we participated agad.

I almost couldn't remember my encounter with Joshua... He's not with his girl and looks a bit tipsy, ni hindi na nga nakarating sa'min si Marius after they saw each other kanina. Why would I care 'di ba?

"Ayos ka lang?" Pasimpleng bulong ni Heather.

Ngumiti ako, "Yeah, don't worry,"

"Olivia, sayaw lang!" Hatak sa'kin ni Rhaella at hinayaan ko lang siya, pinapatulan bawat giling at ng masabayan ko.

Heather was getting better the more she drank. She went carefree and enjoyed with us, pero unlike sa'min nila Rhae, she's still at her best state. Napaparami na rin kasi ang inom ko, I don't remember kung naglalabas na ba ako ng cash. 

I felt a presence behind my back and it didn't bother me knowing who it was.

"Kanila Mikael kayo mamaya?" Bulong ni Ryan... Hindi ko siya nilingon at nagpatuloy sa sayaw.

"Why?"

"Tanong lang," inom niya sa hawak na beer, Heineken. Amoy ko na ang alak, at nalulong na ako sa ere ng buong lugar. Sobrang lakas ng tugtug kaya talagang malapit sa tenga ko ang labi ni Ryan para marinig ko siya.
