Zelina has gotten to the bottom of the ramp when Karl sees her out of the corner of his eye. He pretends he hasn't seen her and continues working on the bag. Zelina clears her throat.
Zelina: Karl?
Karl hits one last springboard moon sault before looking at Zelina. Zelina climbs onto the apron then sits down, Karl climbs out of the ring and sits on the apron with his back against the post.
He wipes his sweat away then looks at her. He has a blank face showing no emotion. Zelina begins to speak.
Zelina: it's good to see you, Karl. i've been worried about you
Karl: that's all you have to say after nearly a year?
Zelina: i'm sorry, ok? i'm sorry that i snapped at you for doing that match, i shouldn't have shouted at you like that in front of everyone. i shouldn't have and i regret it.
Karl can see tears building in her eyes. He looks down then back up at her.
Zelina: all i've wanted to do for nearly a year is message you and talk to you and tell you how bad i feel for everything. i love you and i've missed you everyday since you've been gone.
Karl: i know you have people have been telling me since i left, even my kids. they missed you, maybe even more than i did.
Zelina: are they not here?
Karl: they are with my parents.
It's silent for a moment.
Zelina: i still love you Karl. i-i want to give us another try, if you are willing to give me another chance?
Karl jumps off the ring. He makes eye contact with her.
Karl: Zelina. i'm not going to say no because i still love you, but just not yet. i need time to settle back into the swing of things around here, i hope you can understand?
Zelina: yeah
She tears up and jumps off the ring. The pair hug.
Karl: i still love you and want to give us another go, but give me time to get back into things ok?
She nods.
Karl: i promise you, we can be back together soon. for now, i'll give you this.
Karl kisses her, this causes Zelina to kiss back. They pull apart and put their heads together.
Karl: that seals my promise. i'll give you a lift to the hotel, come on.
The walk to the back. They get their things then Karl drives them to the hotel. The pair get their room keys and go to their respective rooms.
Zelina strips down to her bra and panties then climbs into bed. As she lays there she thinks about all the times that her and Karl have missed out on.
She then smiles thinking back to what he said. "i promise you, we can be back together soon". She goes to sleep thinking about the day her and Karl will be together again.
