Chapter 5

*Backstage*

Karl has just walked into his locker room seeing Ruby and Wyatt sitting on the couch playing the 2k game. They are playing a Mixed-Tag match.

Karl: hey you 2

He kisses the top of their heads.

Karl: who's playing as who?

Wyatt: i'm playing as you dad!

Ruby: i'm playing as Zelina Vega, she my favourite women's wrestler!

He smiles at the pair. He leans in-between them.

Karl: you know she's her tonight right?

She pauses the game.

Ruby: really?!

Karl: yeah, do want me to see if i can find her?

Ruby: yes!

Karl: ok, you 2 continue playing and i'll go find her.

Both: ok!

Karl leaves the room and goes to catering where he saw Zelina. He walks in and sees the LWO all sitting together. He knows Santos, Raul and Joaquin from their days as rivals in NXT. He walks over to them.

Karl: hey guys

LWO: hey.

Santos: how you doing?

Karl: i'm alright, been sent to look for someone

Zelina: who?

Karl: you funny enough. my kids are here with me and you are my daughter's favourite women's wrestler.

Zelina: really?

Karl: yeah, she lost her mind when i said you was here tonight. would you mind popping in and just saying hi? it would make her day even better.

Zelina: sure, don't see why no

Karl: my son is a fan of you 3 as well

Raul: why don't we all go in that case?

Karl: let's go.

They all walk to Karl's locker room. They wait just outside. Karl walks in.

Karl: hey guys, could you pause the game really quickly?

They pause it then look at him.

Ruby: what's up Dad?

Karl: well while i was looking for Zelina, i found something that both of you will like.

Both: really?!

Karl: yeah, come on in guys.

They walk in. Both Ruby and Wyatt lose their minds.

Karl: Ruby, Wyatt these are the LWO. guys these are my kids Ruby and Wyatt.

Wyatt: holy shit

Karl: quit swearing Wyatt

He ruffles his hair. Ruby is stunned silent upon seeing Zelina. She gets up and just hugs her, Zelina is a bit surprised but hugs back and chuckles.

Zelina: i hear from your Dad that i'm your favourite Women's wrestler, is he telling the truth?

Ruby: yeah, i lost my voice from cheering when you won Queen Of The Ring.

Zelina: see, you guys aren't the only ones with fans who love you

Ruby: my dad loves you too

He spits his drink out.

Karl: Ruby

Ruby: what?

He face palms.

Zelina: is that so?

Ruby: yeah, he always talks about you and your matches

Zelina looks at him while a smiling questionable look. She goes red in embarrassment.

Santos: aww look he's gone red

Karl: vete a la mierda santos(fuck off Santos)

Santos: and you told Wyatt not to swear

Wyatt: Santos Escobar knows my name!

They all laugh. The LWO talk to Ruby and Wyatt until it's time for Santos' match when they leave except Zelina. She stays back to talk to Ruby and Wyatt.

Karl is getting ready for his match. He had his headphones on full volume using the punching bag that was in there. Zelina looks at Ruby while Wyatt is creating a character on the 2k game.

Zelina: you said your Dad talks about me, what does he say?

Ruby: things like how beautiful you, how kind you are and how nice you gear looks if you know what i mean.

Zelina: he says that to you?

Ruby: all except the last one, i hear him talking to Grandpa about that one.

Zelina: how often does he talk about me?

Wyatt: a lot, every time he's talking about wrestling you come up. every time.

Zelina blushes.

Ruby: are you blushing?

Zelina: no

She couldn't keep a straight face.

Zelina: fine, i was. you see your Dad has always been nice to me, i guess i see another reason why.

Ruby: i think he likes you, in a romantic sense.

Zelina: you think so?

Ruby: yeah, do you like him?

Zelina: he is a good looking guy, but isn't he seeing someone.

Ruby: no, he was but he left her because she was horrible to us. at first he didn't believe it but we we recorded audio and showed him it. he left her that same day and hasn't dated anyone since.

Zelina: how long ago was this?

Ruby: nearly 3 years ago

Zelina: it's good he puts you first

Ruby: yeah, but we want him to be find someone who makes him happy.

Zelina: and you think that's me?

Ruby: yeah, the smile on his face when he talks about you is one i've never seen from him before.

She looks at him doing his pre-match workout.

Zelina: i'll leave it a few days, so he doesn't think it's just because of what you said

Ruby: if you 2 become a thing, he'll make sure you are happy and doing ok.

Zelina: noted, i should probably go so he doesn't get suspicious.

She hugs both of them then leaves.
