Chapter Twenty-One

"Cause I know that it's delicate"

It had been a month and two days since my false dating started, and I feel nervous about it. Why did I have to  like Mason of all people.

I woke up with my hair all messy and drool everywhere. Ava was awake on her phone and Angie seemed to be in the bathroom or something.

As Angie came back in, Ava announced something to us. "Okay so, i think we should go shopping today. Mason and his friends said they would and I don't see why not."

"I'm in, but isn't it a bit early" I ask.

"It's eleven" Ava said back.

"I would never pass up shopping" Angie said as she went into her bag to find clothes.

We all got ready pretty quickly and got into masons car to go.

"Wait they are joining us" Jake complained. We all made a disgusted look at us. "Sorry, more specifically Angie is?"

"You bet your dumb ass I am" she said as she looked at him.

"Don't start now" Ava complained.

"You can't ever stop them from arguing" Nate said to Ava.

We drive off all the way to the shops around the city and start at a random clothing store.

"Omg this is so cute" Angie said as she lifted up a bikini top. Jake then proceeded to mock her, and she flipped him off.

"You should get it Ang" Ava told her. Ava picked up a crop tank top and was amused by it. I saw that she was interested in it.

"You should try that on" I tell her.

"I will" she says as she smiles and continues to look around.

I look around and can't really find anything. While walking and seemingly not paying attention. I accidentally run into Mason. Figuratively and literally.

"Ooh coming in hot Brina" he says as he looks down to me and laughs. I look up nervously and say "sorry."

"You're fine I was just playing" he tells me as he laughs.

"So what are you looking for" I ask him.

"I was thinking of getting like a button up shirt or something" he tells me.

"Like a Hawaiian shirt" I ask.

"I mean not exactly, but kind of" he says as he scans the shirts near him. He picks one up and tells me "I think I like this one."

"You think or you know? I think you should try it on and see. Ooh and try this one on too" k say as I hand him a really cute one.

He goes into the dressing room and tries the first one on, but he doesn't have it on correctly.

"It would look better if it was on right" I say as I come over to adjust the collar. As I fix it, I look up and make eye contact. I look down to fix it as quickly as I can so I won't be so close. "What do you think?"

"Ehhh, I mean it's fine I guess. I'm gonna try your one."

He walked back into the dressing room and tried mine on, he looked really good in it.

"So what do you think" I ask him as I cross my arms.

"You were right I really like it" he says as he fixes the collar. I smile as he does this and try not to look like I'm into him. "Hey maybe you're doing that like girlfriend affect."

"Girlfriend" I say nervously as I begin blushing. I know he meant fake, but I wish it was real. No I don't, I can't.

"Fake girlfriend, my bad."

"Okay well you have fun with your new shirt, I'm going to go look at sun dresses."

I walk away so he doesn't see the red on my face and go straight to the dresses. I immediately stumble onto a cute dress that I know will look cute. I check the size and price, knowing it will be perfect. I quickly buy it without thinking about it too much and see that my friends are beginning to leave.

I follow them to the candy store where I buy a ton of salt water taffy. Well technically Angie did for me, but still.

We soon after went to other sorts of stores all over the place and overall checked out the whole place. We did a bit of a tour around and then finally went home.

We had dinner and ended up having a huge camp out underneath the stars, just us teens. Their parents said they were too old and laughed about their hips. The stars were beautiful and we all had a wonderful time.
