Meanwhile, we decided not to go shopping. Instead, we selected the dresses at night itself, sitting at home. We sent the selected pictures to the shop, and the dresses were delivered by morning. As planned, only Rhea's dress arrived because I had silently canceled the other two dresses.
In the morning, when Rhea asked about the dresses, I lied, saying they had already arrived and that I had kept them aside. I also messaged Haris, asking him to choose a white two-piece set for Adi to match the outfit and ordered a gown for Aria.
The dresses arrived as planned. We pretended to change into our dresses and sent Rhea to change. Meanwhile, Adi also changed, and Anaya helped Aria into her dress. Once the three of them were ready, we left for the Taj Mahal a few minutes before them to ensure everything was set. Adi, Aria, and Rhea followed shortly after.
As we arrived, Adi got out of the car, opened the side door, and took Aria in his arms. He held my hand and helped me out of the car. I was blushing so hard, and as soon as we entered, I was surprised to see the beautiful decorations.
The garden of the Taj Mahal was transformed into a fairytale scene with twinkling fairy lights, delicate white and pink roses adorning every corner, and a path lined with candles leading to a heart-shaped arch. A small table was set with a pristine white tablecloth, a bottle of champagne, and two glasses. Tears welled up in my eyes at the sight.
That's when Adi bent down on one knee, holding flowers behind his back. When I turned to see him, he began to speak,
"Rhea, the place where I'm proposing to you is known for its tales of love. I know you might not accept because you're thinking about my daughter. But let me tell you the story of Aru. Seven years ago, I met her at the hospital when I was just 18. My mom was unwell, and as we were leaving the hospital, I saw a nurse holding a baby girl. They were talking about sending her to an orphanage because her mother, who was unmarried, had abandoned her. I couldn't bear to see that, so I took responsibility for her. Although Mom scolded me at first, she soon grew to love Aru as much as I do. Mom has taken care of Aru all these years, and now, I want us to take care of her together."
(At this point, Haris, who had been holding Aru's ears and playing loud music through earphones, let go.)
Adi brought the flowers he was hiding to the front, looked deeply into my eyes, and said, "Rhea, you are the love of my life, my partner, and my best friend. Will you marry me and make our family complete?"
Blushing and overwhelmed with emotion, I replied, "Yes, ofcourse Adi," and tears streamed down my face.
Aria, holding flowers in her hand, approached and asked, "Will you be my mumma, Rhea mumma?" I cried, smiled, and said, "Yes, Aru, baccha, meri jaan." I hugged both Aria and Adi tightly. It was a deeply emotional and happy moment.
Looking at them, Fiza and I stood beside each other, watching the beautiful scene unfold. Fiza turned to me and said, "You know, Haris, I'm so happy seeing Rhea like this. It was her dream to be proposed to in this way—like a fairytale. And Adi, without even knowing exactly what Rhea wanted, made it happen. That's what real love is, when your partner understands you without needing words. I just wish that the three of them stay this happy forever."
While Fiza was talking, I was completely lost in her words, in her joy. I couldn't help but think, "Fiza, one day, I will bring you into this fairytale too." She turned around to look at me, but I was already gazing at her.
She called, "Haris?" but I didn't respond. She called again, "Haris?" but I still didn't hear her. It wasn't until she waved her hand in front of my face that I snapped back to reality.
Fiza asked, "Kha kho gaye the, pglu?" Hearing her call me "pglu," my heart melted. She called, "Haris?" again.
I finally replied, "Kahi nhi, bas tum me khoya tha."
Fiza, a bit puzzled, replied, "Kya? Arey, Rhea aur Adi mein khoya tha, kuch nhi." I just smiled, knowing that she didn't realize how deeply lost I was in her.
Anaya and Raghav watched everything unfold with the excitement of children. They couldn't contain their happiness seeing the family finally complete. As everyone congratulated Adi and Rhea, they joined in the celebration. Soon, they all headed to the Taj Mahal, chatting and enjoying each other's company.
During the visit, Anaya and Fiza playfully teased Rhea, saying, "Aha, Rhea, look at you blushing!" Anaya added, "Seriously, Rhea di, you're blushing so much!" Rhea responded with a mock sternness, "Shut up, both of you, don't tease me."
Aria chimed in, saying, "Don't tease my Mumma, Fiza didi and Anaya didi ." This made Fiza and Anaya burst into laughter. Fiza said jokingly, "Alright, beta, we won't tease your Mumma." Everyone laughed together, enjoying the light-hearted moment.
Meanwhile, Raghav and Haris teased Adi, saying, "Well done, bhai, bhabhi agreed! We told you she would. So, when's the wedding? Tell us!" Adi chuckled and replied, "It will happen soon, little brother, very soon." They all shared a laugh together.
As they explored the majestic Taj Mahal, its pristine beauty served as a backdrop to their joyous celebration. The group shared stories, took pictures, and marveled at the historical wonder, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Amidst the laughter and camaraderie, they toasted with soft drinks, raising their glasses to love, family, and new beginnings.
