The girl let out a solidarity sigh as she watched her siblings in the kitchen. A map took over the entire kitchen table where lunch should be. She ate her cold sardine sandwich on the sofa. Fish juice dripped onto the cushion. Gazer approached her, floating over. The dagger blinked softly with his golden eye.
"Hey. Gazer." She boredly said before taking the last bite of her soggy sandwich.
He blinked in Morse code, "Behaving-?".
Echo groaned, "Sure. It's not like I'm allowed to go.".
Telekinetically Gazer picked up a napkin for her and patted the mustard from her face.
She snatched it from the air, whipped her face and put it back on the table. She got up from the sofa to pace the living room.
She slowed as she brushed her hand against her father's waraxe. It was taller than her. Her face reflected in the polished blade. Her horns were growing only as small red nubs on the right side of her head. She had to trim them again soon so her hair could cover them. Gazer looked into the reflection beside her.
Her brother looked up from the map, he quietly spoke to Cleo, "Did Echo take her medicine?".
Cleo, annoyed, nodded. "She's mad at you.".
"Mad at me?". He tried to keep his low in shock. He whispered even quieter "What did I do?".
"You said you'd loosen up." Cleo dragged a piece of charcoal across the map.
"I am loose." Cacey defended, "We went on a few heists. Also your line is a little off.". He tried to take the charcoal from her. She slammed her palm over it, standing up.
"One. Unless you are counting stealing from ruins as a heist. Which it isn't because there are zero people there.".
"What am I supposed to do!".
"Well what shops have you seen in Amberkal that had no guards. Don't you dare bring up the fountain again.".
Cacey struggled in thought, "Well there are restaurant dumpsters-".
His sister gave him an unimpressed look, "Dumpster diving?" she interrupted.
"You never know. Rich people are wasteful.".
"A real heist with something tangible." She put her hands out and tightened them into fists, "I know you have better ideas when you actually want to work.".
"What about a candy store then? She likes sweets.".
"Now you are finally using your brain." The pyromancer remarked.
"Fine. Before we go to the stables, we'll rob that snobby candy store. That way if our friend hears about it, she'll be on the other side of town.".
He felt watched. Cacey turned to look, out of the corner of his eye was Gazer. He was staring at something not him. Unblinking. Cacey followed his line of sight walking around the corner to Echo.
"I get to go on a heist!" She screamed out so loud the thief winced.
Cleo smiled, walking over, "Yes. Just bring your bag. You won't need anything else.".
"We're only filling up your bag, once it's full we leave. Got that?". Cacey warned.
Echo teleported and came back with her bag instantly.
"A few more ground rules.".
Cleo groaned. The thief shot a glare.
"If a knight comes our way we go for the exit. I don't want them to notice you.".
