-"Miss Miller, I'm afraid you'll have to come with me...". He says in a raspy voice
-"Why?"
-"Why??" He repeats, frowning his brow from confusion.
-"Yeah why? What did I do wrong?" I'm testing his patience—terrible idea.
-"In understandable terms, you are vandalizing this place, which is illegal, does the missy understand now?"
-"So what? My art is beautiful, this wall looks way prettier than it used to". I tilt my head to look at my masterpiece.
-"Your intention may be art, but the law disagrees, by definition, spraying without permission is vandalism. It's that simple."
-"And it's that bullshit." I cross my arms, instantly regretting what I just said. But oh well, I feel like I'm going to regret a lot of what I'm about to say...at least I'm funny. Daphne 1, Hot Officer 0.
His eyes gleamed with annoyance and narrowed at my response, I'm guessing I'm pissing him off very, very much.
-"Watch your language, Miss, disrespecting a police officer isn't going to do you any favors here."
-"Yeah right, I wouldn't want to disrespect YOU." I smirk in a flirty manner and play with one strand of my hair using my finger, looking directly into his brown eyes, but his face stays neutral. My smirk quickly fades away and is replaced with an awkward smile... Sounds like this guy isn't going to let me go even with pulling the flirting card.
-"Trust me, your sarcasm isn't helping your case." He dryly replies. He checks my ID again, making sure it's not fake before handing it to me again. I put it in my jeans pocket.
-"So, Miss Miller, care to explain why you felt the need to paint the wall like it was your living room?"
-"More like my bedroom~," I wink and tuck my hair behind my ear...I realize he's actually waiting for an answer so I clear my throat. "I just thought it'd be fun and cool to do so, besides I'm not the only one doing that."
-"Fun and cool, huh? Well, that's not exactly a reason in the eyes of the law. And just because others are doing it doesn't make it right or legal."
-"Is it THAT big of a deal? like okay, I painted a wall, then what? why is it even considered illegal?"
-"Graffiti is considered vandalism because it defaces public and private property without consent." He explains in a stern voice. "It costs money to clean up/repair, it also creates an eyesore for the community."
-"Nah it's actually more pleasing to the eye to look at a well-done graffiti than stacked bricks forming a wall."
He sighed, growing impatient with my argumentative tone.
-"Your opinion on the aesthetics isn't the issue here. Anyways I'm not here to chit-chat so I would prefer you to cooperate..." He takes the handcuffs from his belt and gets ready to put them on me.
-"Ahaha I'm not into all these handcuff stuff, not my cup of tea..." I chuckle and take a few steps back. "Come on are you really gonna arrest me?" I pleadingly say.
His jaw tightened
-"Let's get something straight; I'm not here to play games with you, if you don't cooperate and show some level of responsibility, I will put you in cuffs and take you down to the station."
-"Can you just leave me with a warning, I proooomise I wouldn't do it again, let's just say..." I try to find something to add. "... It's...my birthday! And I'd really appreciate it as a gift". I wink again, lying to lure myself out of here.
He raises an eyebrow, not convinced at all.
-"Oh really? Funny because I don't care." He says firmly.
-"Woah rude". I put my hands on my hips to support my weight. Suddenly I get an idea and smirk to myself. I look behind his shoulder "Oh my god! What's going on there?!". I say in an alarmed tone, pointing right behind him and taking a step back.
He turns his head immediately, I take that opportunity of distraction to quickly grab my bag and run away. He looks surprised as I escape him, I say one last thing before leaving.
-"Bye bye hottie officer!" I waved both of my arms and smiled cheekily before sprinting away, running as fast as I could so he wouldn't catch me.
-"HEY!" He shouts, but hesitates to run after me. I can't believe I just escaped getting arrested by some ruthless cop, I'll write it on my bucket list just to tick it, I laugh at myself as I run back home, feeling my hair in the air flying due to the soft evening wind, I make sure he isn't behind me, which he isn't.
I quickly get home and lock my door, panting from that sprint, I push the little strands of my hair off my face and chuckle to myself again. Hopefully this isn't the worst decision I made in my life (Though I wouldn't call it a 'decision' but more of an 'intrusive thought'), I think to myself while I catch my breath. And as sexy as that cop was, crossing paths with him again would only get me in trouble. Life sentence level trouble. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating.
Do I regret what I did? Yes. Would I do it again? Heck yes.
