She turned and looked at him with an emotion he had yet to see in her eyes. "leave."

She said coldly.

"what?"

" I said get going! Come to think of it, if you want to go so badly then just leave. I'm a grown up girl and I can take care of myself," she said and turned to her back to him then moved towards a tent. He wanted to insist but his phone rang and he picked up. Whatever the person said lightened up his mood and he caught up with her and did something that shocked him even more than it shocked her.

He hugged her but realized his action and apologized.

"I'm sorry miss. I'm leaving but just for a bit because my bitch just put to birth. Two little cuties can you fancy that? I'm so excited. I can't wait to see th..." he swallowed the next part of her sentence because of the look she had.

Not knowing what he said wrong, "I'll be back in thirty minutes maximum, I just want to check on them that's all," he added.

"Bitch. What a way of addressing the mother of your kids. You are so, so... pft. You just said you didn't have a girlfriend, now you do? Men, you are so mean."

" you are getting this wrong. Diver is my bitch..."

"There you go again," she interrupted.

"Seriously, she is my dog, my pet! A female dog – a bitch – you get. I would not lie about having a girlfriend just so you know and I won't go about calling her a bitch either."

" sorry, I , I thought, well I'm sorry Nathanael."

" It's fine. If you want you can come se them with me."

" No thanks I'll stay here and light up lanterns instead. But I have a little something for the puppies though."

Later that night, Nathanael had arrived at the lantern field as planned but Berry was not there. He waited for a bit but she did not seem to be planning on reaching the place anytime soon. He made a call to the hotel but she was not there. He decided to start a search though a crazy thing to do in such a crowded area.

He searched for a while before perceiving her in a circle of excited fans. Just one glance and you'll understand that all she needed was to get out of there. He smiled, one that said : 'I knew you'll definitely help miss grown up.'

Before he could reach her, some other guy did and she followed his guide.

The young man whispered at her ear then she nodded in response. He spoke to the crowd and led her away from there.

The people took pictures and videos while she left. She seemed to ask the man a question. His response was as short as hers if not shorter. But whatever it is that he said seemed to reassure her judging by her reaction.

Nathanael strolled towards them, if against all odds they were friends, then he will just tell her he is leaving. Then he will whole heartedly enjoy his time with his newborn cuties and no worries.

" Mrs. Berry," he called out when he was getting closer to them. She looked over her shoulder and deep furrows appeared on her forehead.

" Nathanael?" she uttered with widened eyes, bewilderment clear in her voice. She paused in her track, " Where do you think you are taking me to? Let go of me this minute!" she said as she faced him.

" I have already told you I'm taking you to your chauffeur..." he said with a tinge of exasperation he obviously wanted to hide. " Let go of me I say!" she commanded.

"Let go of her!" Nathanael's voice thundered in the silence. They had moved far from the festival ground already and where at a small corridor between two buildings that lead to a main road. The place was faintly lit and calm making their voices seem louder than they actually were.
