„Nathanael!! Are you alright?" Olimpia exclaimed. Coppelius had finally permitted her to see her little brother Nathanael through a glass wall after two weeks of long and gruesome torture. But nothing had left but a single blemish on her this arms that were pressing against the glass wall. She put her hands on the glass, unable to touch her little brother, only 2 years younger than herself, who had put his hands on the same position as his older sister.
„Pia! I'm fine! Coppelius has not done anything to me yet! But he keeps on looking at me with a strange look, murmuring something about taking apart my limbs and rearranging them in a new manner... Sister, that man is weird!"
The young Nathanael, only 15 years of age, shuddered when he thought about the man who had kidnapped both him and his sister only two weeks ago. It was only two weeks ago when their lives had been normal, nothing out of the ordinary, but to the young Nathanael it felt like an eternity. It would have felt even longer if not for a companion giving him company to alleviate his anxiety and boredom, as he was not permitted nor required to do anything.
Olimpia also frowned when she recalled that man's visage. Even if she didn't want to remember his expression, it never left her mind. That disgustingly handsome blushing face of his-
„Oh, how I wish I could tear his ugly snout apart... Nathanael, are you truly alright? What about your nutrition? Has he been giving anything weird to you? Or doing anything weird to you? Tell me anything."
Olimpia was desperate. She wanted her brother's situation, her only family's situation to be better than hers. He was incapable of healing, contrary to Olimpia, so her worries for Nathanael never ceased. She craved for hope, for the salvation of her brother's wellbeing. Nathanael anxiously opened his mouth.
„Coppelius sends a boy my age to me to deliver my meals. The meals are ordinary in themselves. But I'm always being told to take a pill after finishing my meals. They say it's to calm my nerves but I'm not sure. Nowadays, I hear a weird ringing in my ears. Oh but Lothar is pretty nice. He always chats with me for a little while before taking the food tray away again."
Olimpia clenched her fists. She was frustrated. Her brother was just beyond this glass wall, but she was unable to touch him. She'd have loved to use her healing ability to examine her little brother and cure the ringing in his ears, maybe find out the effects of the pill he was forced to take, but with such a big wall between them, it was impossible for her to do so. Was that also part of Coppelius' schemes? While sunken in her own thoughts, she noticed something that pulled her mind out of those very thoughts.
„Nathanael, are you... blushing?" she asked flabbergastedly. Nathanael looked at her in shock and tried to hide his face with his hands while denying her claims. When he saw her piercing golden eyes staring straight at him, he gave up on resisting and told her the truth.
„To be honest... Lothar is not only my age but also quite beautiful... And he is kind, at least to me, and... and... ... ... Well... How should I put it... Anyways, I think I like him... maybe..."
Olimpia couldn't believe it. In a situation such as theirs, when they were kidnapped and held captive by some crazy pervert, furthermore tortured to death and back, her little brother caught feelings for someone. No maybe... Was it a natural consequence for someone of his age when they were all alone? But... He and Olimpia herself were not far apart in age... Would that mean that she would one day also...
Nonononono, that cannot be. Never. Not for that inhumane monster of a being. Not when HE looked at her intestines like the most exquisite 5 star meal.Olimpia steeled her mind. Never. No matter what happened. Do not fall for that monster in human skin. Never. That shall be the one thing she is never allowed to do. Olimpia burned that resolve into her brain and heart, determined to never break said resolve.
„Pia... Will we ever get out of here?" Nathanel asked with a hopeful but at the same time defeated look on his face. And Olimpia knew exactly where that look came from. Because she was aware of the fact, that nobody would be looking for the two of them, not the police, the school they were attending nor their estranged relatives.
„It will be fine. We will get out, I'm sure. Someone... someone out there will have noticed our disappearance and contacted the local authorities. And that's why we cannot give up. You hear me Nathanael?" Olimpia said determined, more as a reassurance to herself then to her little brother. She knew of no way out. She was trapped in the hands of that man that called himself Coppelius and a doctor.
If only mother was still alive...
Olimpia quickly discarded that thought, knowing it would do her no good. She once again looked at the glass, separating her from her brother. An alarm sounded outside and Olimpia stepped away from the glass.
„Nathanael... I'll have to go now. You should also go back. And don't worry, your sister will keep you safe. I promise. and don't trust anyone but yourself in this crazy shithole. No matter what." Olimpia exited the room, not without throwing a last glance at her little brother, who was being escorted out by a man dressed in the same white lab coat as Coppelius.
„You seem to be close to your younger brother." The female assistant of Coppelius, who was escorting Olimpia out of the room, started a conversation. Olimpia didn't respond. She had no reason to entertain the people working in this sick lab more than she had to. Clara, aware of her feelings, looked down at the ground ashamedly, knowing that trying to befriend the young girl she was to torture was shameless and inhumane.
„I'm sorry..." she murmured quietly, barely audible to even herself. She felt sympathy towards this young girl and guilt towards herself for helping the perpetrator. And right now she was leading this young, pitiful girl towards said perpetrator.„Did you enjoy your little chat with your brother?" Coppelius was awaiting her in his usual experimental room. Olimpia flinched, but didn't stop glaring at him. And Coppelius gladly received her glare with a smile.
‚How cute' he thought.
„You... what exactly are you giving my brother?" Olimpia asked as she moved towards the table Coppelius motioned her towards to. While she laid down on the table, with Coppelius' female assistant attaching cuffs on her wrists and ankles, Coppelius was humming with a syringe in his hand that was filled with a mysterious fluid.
„Hm? Oh, don't worry. I'll keep my promise of causing him no bodily harm. I was just slightly curious what were to happen, should a person live mainly on the nutritional value peas offer." Olimpia's eyes opened wide at the revelation offered to her.I know this from somewhere... but where?
But Olimpia was unable to continue her track of thoughts as Coppelius approached the table she was lying on with the syringe in hand. Fear, nervousity and anxiety rose up within her, as the syringe closed in on her arm. Coppelius, noticing those emotions in her shaking eyes, smiled delightfully.
„You're wondering what that is, huh? It's acid, that's supposed to melt even iron in a split second with even the slightest exposure. I wonder how fast your blood vessels will recover, if filled with the exact same acid." He let out a delightful chuckle as Olimpia's expression changed to one of pure horror.
„Now... make those nice sounds with your lovely voice once again, my dearest canary."
And the next few hours of hell began anew, with a cruel cycle of passing out to pain and waking up to even more, as more acid was being injected into her, with her gaze locked onto Coppelius' expression of pure delight. Her ability didn't allow her voice to grow coarse, filling the room with constant screams of agony.
Will I really be able to get out of this hell?...
And done with the next chapter. Hope I was able to properly convey how Olimpia, only a young girl, tries to cling to hope but losing the same hope slowly and slowly... And of course hope that you were able to enjoy this chapter. Byee
