As the morning wore on, the sky grew darker and more ominous. At first, it was just a subtle change, a slight deepening of the blue to a more foreboding grey. But as the hours passed, the clouds began to take on a life of their own, twisting and curling like living black tendrils across the sky.

Today, they seemed...menacing.

Rita, with an uncharacteristic frown, appeared beside Alaric, her eyes fixed on the sky. "What's going on?" she asked softly, her voice trembling slightly.

Alaric shrugged, his dark blue eyes squinting slightly as he gazed up at the clouds. "Just the weather," he said, his voice calm and reassuring.

But Rita didn't seem convinced. She glanced around nervously, as if she expected something to drop from the sky at any moment. The rustling of leaves in the nearby trees seemed to take on a menacing tone, like a chorus of whispers in her ear.

As they stood there, frozen in uneasy silence, a faint breeze began to stir, rustling leaves and sending trash swirling through the streets. The clouds seemed to be growing darker still, their edges beginning to fray and unravel like torn fabric. The air was thick with an electric charge, making Alaric's skin prickle with goosebumps.

And then, just as suddenly as it had begun, everything went still. The wind died down, the clouds froze in place, and an unnatural silence fell over the town.

It was as if they were all holding their breath, waiting for something to happen.

Rita slipped her hand into Alaric's and leaned against him, her eyes never leaving the sky. Her grip on his hand tightened as she sucked in a deep breath. While she might not be a superstitious person, she felt something different about today. It was as if the storm clouds above were trying to tell them something.

With a shake of her head, she turned to look up at Alaric who still watched the sky with an unblinking gaze. His dark blue eyes were a lot like the storm clouds above - intense and foreboding. A small smile crossed her lips before vanishing. She stiffened.

"Ric, I need to talk to you about something," she said, her voice shaking slightly.

Alaric raised an eyebrow, sensing that something was off. "What is it?" he asked, his tone cautious and concerned.

Rita jolted when the bell rang warning them to return to class. She hesitated before slumping slightly in defeat. "I'll tell you later," she said reluctantly.

As they reluctantly parted ways and headed back to class, Rita couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. The storm clouds seemed to be following her everywhere she went, their dark tendrils curling around her like snakes. She knew that she had to tell Alaric what was really bothering her - but she was afraid of what he might say or do.

Rita trudged back to class, her mind was still preoccupied with the ominous storm clouds and her conversation with Alaric. She couldn't help but notice that it didn't look good outside. The storm clouds seemed to be closing in, casting long shadows across the ground. She shivered, feeling a sense of foreboding.
