Toby's POV
Silver and Toby ran up to the glass building, the wind blew cold air on their skin. "Gee.. I can't believe this.." Toby said looking up to the doors, "there's like a one percent chance we'll get the job so don't get you're hopes up Toby.." Silver growled. "Okay okay..." he snorted "let's go already!" He slung open the door and ran in. "Hello!" Silver said quietly to the attendant sitting at the desk, "hello..." they growled under their breath, " Uh we are here for 'the test'" Toby stepped up beside his sister "yes, you're going to the room on the right." They pointed to a heavy looking metal door. "Thank you!" Silver waved and slipped through the door Toby close behind, "we're meeting OtherWorldly_Night here, right?" Toby reassured "yes!" Silver said excitedly "you were looking for me?" A tall man in dark clothing towered over them, "yes, yes sir" Silver grunted as to seem as an operative. He chuckled, "you're here for the test?" He asked stopping himself from laughing anymore, "yes" Toby mumbled "okay.." he growled under his breath "fallow me" they began to move. They fallowed him through a long hallway with mirrors on either side making it light enough to see but not too light. At the end of the hall waited many more children hoping to become Night Operatives, 'don't get you're hopes up..' Silver's words played in his head and he internally growled at them "Toby?" He heard OtherWorldly sneer "hm?" Toby said surprised back into reality, "next to Silver."
"Yes." Toby wobbled over to Silver standing next to her, he straitened his back as the operative came closer. "You will all be faced with four challenges." He began, "with that you must survive, the equipment you're wearing currently is programmed to make is as if you are shot you can no longer use that limb" he peered at Toby which made him stiffen, "now reasonably these aren't real bullets and are nothing more that a replica that goes with the equipment. Robotics will play as the Day operatives, if a robot shoots any of you're limbs you may no longer use that limb if it is shot again you die as well if three of you're limbs are shot. If you're head or torso is shot you're dead. Understood?" He snapped, everyone nodded, "good." He walked them into a room that seemed to be a fake forest, trees and rocks his everywhere at each end there was a door, above them was a glass window which Toby guessed was so the operative could watch them. "This one you'll have to work together to make it to the other side, the father you get into the room the more bots there is, another thing to know is, robots are no more powerful than you are. Meaning you can shoot at them, head shot or a shot at their torso immediate kill, any limb has two lives, if they lose three limbs they die. Understood?" everyone nodded again "alright begin." He said then walked off. Toby grabbed Silver's arm and dragged her behind a stone, "we've gotta stay safe.. we have to do this..." he hugged his sister as a bullet brushed the back of his neck. "Oh lord.." he huffed
"let's go" Silver giggled, she dove next to another kid and shot at one of the robots, who unknowingly shot another robot behind him, "double kill!" Toby heard Silver whisper to herself as they fell to the ground. Toby looked around and quickly realized how many of the other people where 'killed'. "Silver you take the right, I'll take left?" He said sliding up next to her to shoot. "Sure" she chuckled before shooting at another, she darted in between rocks and trees shooting everything in sight most of the robots noticed her shooting towards her "NO!" He heard. 'Uh oh.. she got shot..' "TOBY!!!" She bellowed, panicking he quickly ran into the open making a dash to the door "silver?" He said as he quickly ducked to dodge a bullet almost piercing his suit, "here!" She grinned as they stepped through the door. "Very well." Otherworldly's booming voice echoed over the area, "you two are lucky, since usually only one make it through that door, although this is a two person task. One of you must distract the bots as the other unlocks the prison cell where you're teammates are. Good luck." It went silent as Silver dashed off towards the prison cell, "wait!" Toby called "Toby!" She snarled "go distract! You're good at that!"
"Uh alright!" He rushed off towards the bot which Toby had no idea where it was.. luckily,he found it, well... the bot had found him but it still worked he looked around looking for a place to hide when the bot took fire. Toby dove behind a tree for safety missing the bullet my a centimetre, he shot down the first one easily with a single headshot, but more came each time, first two, then four, then six, then eight.. 'Uh oh..' he thought "SILVER ARE YOU ALMOST DONE!?" He started panicking knowing he couldn't take them on his own "yes! Let's go slow poke!" She suddenly was beside him jabbing his ribs "ow! You scared me!" He scoffed as they ran to the door, "you mean- NO!" Silver fell over so suddenly it took Toby a moment to realize where she had fallen "NOO I WAS SHOT AGAIN!" She desperately cried "where? Not the same place right!?" Toby tried staying calm as he picked her up and carried her through the door "no! First my arm got shot now my leg.." she grumbled "how sad." Otherworldly's voice tumbled from the speakers "because you'll be needing you're legs for this."
"I thought.." Toby noticed Silver whisper
"This is a obstacle course, the last task. For this you may not have you're guns and can only avoid gun shots. You also have to avoid some obstacles that can kill you.. these include climbing.. good luck." His voice trailed off. "Great.." she growled "cmon you can do this, Silver we're only one step away from being operatives and you being able to use you're leg.." he slightly laughed
"Not funny" she scoffed. "Well.. lets go." He said, "I CANT!" she cried "yes you can, but you need to do everything I say." Toby grabbed her hand dragging her to the first obstacle, you have to use a rope to climb over, pretty basic. Toby grabbed ahold of it pulling himself over "Silver!" He called "use you're one good arm to pull yourself up, offer me you're bad arm and let me pull you up with it!" She did as he said, they did this for pretty much every one other than the ones where you had to jump over somethings. They had finally made it to the end. "Thank you." Silver hugged him as she got the ability to use her arm and leg back. "Congratulations, you two have completed the course something one out of one hundred have done. You're names will be based off how good you did, Toby you're name will now be Fearful_Night, Silver you will now vow to the name Brilliant_Night." Otherworldly said. 'Hm.. Fearful, I guess I'm afraid.. but of what?"
