"bye guys!" i yell rushing out of the car. it was two forty five and it took fifteen minutes to get to the game. as i was walking to the front door i was greeted by my mom walking out.

"There you are May! i was about to leave without you." she jumps.

"hey mom! sorry we got caught up at target." i apologize. she continues walking and i follow behind her.

it was a quiet car ride. i unbuckled and got out of the front seat. we sat down a little late as we had to pay at the gate which held us up.

"this is the fullest highschool game ive ever been to." my mom looks at me suprised.

"i think we can squeeze in over there." i nod my head towards an empty spot in the stands.

"yah that'll be fine. will you get me a water really quick?" my mom asks me as she begins digging in her purse.

"of course." i tell her while she hands me a five.

"that should be enough." she smiles at me and i smile back. i walk towards the concession stands. there's a tall bald man working.

"hi! can i just get a water please?" i ask politely.

"yes, three dollars please." i hand him the five and as he's digging for my change out of a register he begins talking.

"which team are you here to see?" he asks looking up.

"i'm not sure actually what the name is. i'm here to see my cousin connor, chess." i tell him.

he hands me my change and turns to walk towards a cooler.

"oh i know connor. he's on my boys team. here you go. enjoy the game!" he says while handing me my water.

even though he ended the conversation i was curious.
"who's your boy?" i ask him.

"jaden, walton," he says "number 5. he's a catcher." he points at a boy on the feild.

"oh! good to know!" i tell him with a smile and begin walking to sit down.

i hand my mom the change but indulge myself in a drink of her water.

i open it up and begin coughing.

a dark haired girl turns to look at me.

"are you okay girl?" she says jokingly.

"no, im drowning." i say jokingly in between coughs. a boy i assumed to be her brother turned around and laughed. when i stopped coughing i smiled back at him.

"i love your shirt! i'm jayla by the way, and this is javon." jayla informs me while a lady sitting infront of them turns around.

"im jessica! their momma. it's nice to meet you." she introduces herself kindly.

"i'm Madelyn. Chess. Connors my cousin." i tell them.

"oh is he really? i see the resemblance!" the women tells me. i let out a laugh and she turns around.

"connor's my guy." javon tells me.
