"who's gonna start us off?" javon asks.

"i will!" kylee says excitedly.

"jaden, truth or dare?" she asks him.

"truth." he replies.

"is it true that you think Madelyn's pretty?" she asks him.

his face turns red and he looks down with a small laugh.

"yah Madelyn's pretty." he says looking up at me.

i immediately got butterflies. that was sweet. i liked the boldness. boys these days always think being nonchalant is cool. maybe to some people but that's just not my type.

"okay jaden your turn to ask someone truth or dare." a boy from his team reminds him.

"uhm, Danny truth or dare?" he asks one of the boys on his team.

"since i'm not boring, dare." he spits.

"oh okay damn. i see how it is. i dare you too howl like a dog for five minutes." jaden dares.

"oh fuck that. i'm done bruh." Danny says laughing.

"do it Danny!" javon encourages.

"no man i'm not a furry!" Danny claps back jokingly.

"you're so boring." jayla adds.

"i'm going to sleep." Danny gets up shaking his head with a smile and walks inside.

"well that was the shortest game of truth or dare. like ever." i joke.

"im gonna go inside too i think. i've got soccer practice in the morning." another boy on the team says.

"yo me too. it's getting late." javon adds.

"kylee do you wanna go get some food really quick?" jayla says sarcastically.

"waittt we cant." kylee says with a face. "then Madelyn and Jaden would be left all alone." kylee exaggerates her words

i look at jaden and roll my eyes.

he smiles and shakes his head.

"well is that okay with you guys?" jayla puts her hands on her hips while asking us.

"yah that's okay." jaden says with attitude and a smile.

"oh they wanna be alone!" kylee jokes.

"welp! we'll be right back guys." jayla says while taking kylees hand and dragging her inside.

"and then there was two." i joke.

"today was fun." he says after.

"yah! it was a good start to the summer." i shake my head.
