"The hell you mean the season been suspended??" I asked
It's been a week since we last played and people still were talking about my performance, it was a surreal feeling to be talked about around the national. Especially when we're rookies playing at a not as hard league.
We were currently training at the club's facility, preparing for the next game. The team was doing drill practice and physical training when the coach called us over for a meeting.
"Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the league has decided to suspend the season for at least 30 days and it might even get pushed back further until the situation becomes manageable. Until then all training and team activities are on hold" the coach said
The team was silent as the new sank in, just as things were starting to go well. I felt disappointed since this was our debut season, I raised my hand to ask a question.
"Yes Y/N?"
"What are we supposed to do for those days then?"
"For now, you have to stay safe and healthy. The club will provide you guys with a training regimen, just because the season is suspended doesn't mean you get to slack off during training"
Everyone nodded at this, I could tell the team felt huge disappointment when we heard the season got suspended.
"Alright, that's all for now. Make sure you guys stay safe" The coach said
With the meeting now ended everyone left the pitch to go change in the locker room. After I finished changing and was headed to my car I heard Dani call out my name.
"Y/N!"
I turn around and see Dani run up to me
"Yeah what's up?"
"Just make sure you keep in contact and stay safe" He said before give me a hug, I returned the hug and after couple of seconds he broke it apart "And remember, football is life!" He said running away to his car
