Unmasking the Love

Deepthi just finished her dinner and was cleaning the kitchen when her phone rang. Deepthi got irritated hearing her phone blaring for the nth time from her known caller. Though her heart jumped with happiness every time when his number flashed on her mobile. But her inner sense enjoyed testing his patience by not picking the calls. She at last picked the call after not wanting to bowl him too much.

'Naan call pick pannalena busyah irupenu theriyatha?'
(Don't you understand that I am busy if I didn't pick the call?)
She asked without even greeting him.

'Naan ipdi vidama call panrena...naan unna evlo love panrenu unakku puriyatha?'
(Won't you understand that I love you that much when I keep calling you?)
he responded with a question in turn. Deepthi bit her lips to stop her smile escaping her lips.

'Nee love panna....enakku interest illiye...'
(But I don't have any interest on you)
Deepthi's voice sounded lethargic.

'Oh So you don't love me is it? His voice showed disappointment.

'That you came to know only now? I was telling you right from the first call...' she continued to play with him.

'Is this your final decision?' he asked again.

'Yes..I am pakka...' Deepthi again played him looking at her reflection on the mirror.

'Ok...Nee un decision sonnathum nallatha thaan pochu...'
(It's good that you said your decision..)
he sighed.

'yen...Unakku marriage fix aagi irukka?'
(Why? Are you getting married?)
Deepthi smirked.

'Hey.... Yes...you are right..Enakku veetla ponnu paathu irukaanga (my parents have fixed an alliance)...But I didn't tell my parents about my decision. Un decisionah therinjikka thaan naan ivlo naal wait pannen (was just waiting for your decision)...But when you are not interested...I will not disturb you anymore....' He spoke.

'Oh you are getting married...Nallathu...romba nallathu...inime un tholla illama irupen...congrats and all the best....' (good that at least from now on i will be at peace without your torture..)
Deepthi said gulping her saliva.

'Thank you...My engagement is in another 2 days.... I wish you to come to my engagement.' He continued.

'Oh..So naan reject pannuvenu unakku theriyum..Nee already oru backup ready panni irukae illa?'
(Oh...so you knew in prior that I would reject you..do you already with a backup plan is it?)
Deepthi's voice showed pure anger and annoyance.

'See...Naanum evlo naal thaan wait panrathu...enakkum ella aasaiyum irukum illa...naanum manushan thane....'
(See....how long I can wait...even I am a human right?)
That guy responded to her.

'So I request you to come to engagement...' He finally said.

'Edhukku Naan vanthu un functionala saathukudi pai podava...'
(Why should i...just to thank the guests with return gifts?)
Deepthi was irritated and would have turned him into ashes if he was in front of her.

'Che..Che..Unna poi antha velalam paaka solvena (will I ever make you do those works?)...You are so special and may be good friend of my mine... I am inviting you for my engagement and request you to grace the occasion with your presence...I will send you the location and address shortly.' He said in a calm voice.

'Ennalalaam vara mudiyathu...Enakku vela irukku...bye...'
(I will not come...i have more productive work to do...)
Deepthi cut the call. Her eyes brimmed with tears. Her lips wobbled. Her heart felt heavy for the first time. Constantly tears started to flowing from her eyes.

'Avanukku kalyanam na enakku enna..Naan jollyah thaan irupen...naan happy ah thaan irukeen...Ivan engagementku naan varanuma...my foot..'
(What's going to affect me if he gets engaged...i have no issues in that...i am always happy....)
Deepthi said to herself by seeing her reflection and wiped her tears.
