Aakriti's Pov
It was evening time and we all were seated in Ragini di and Vicky bhaiya's room.
The doctor had left giving her some medicine and asked us to let her rest well.
Since then my mother-in-law isn't letting her get up from the bed.
We all talked and laughed, for the first time I was feeling safe with my pyaari maa ji and nanad ji
"Choti Bahu jao kuch mitha banao, ye toh bohot subh samachar mila hai hume" Maasi ji said to me.
( Younger daughter,go cook something sweet. This is a very good new)
" Chalo Aakriti, hum tumhari saheta karte hai" Ragini di said getting up from her bed.
( Let's go Aakriti, I'll help you too)
"Aare tum abhi aaram karo, phir kahi gir pad gayi toh ye subh samachar asub na ho jaye" Maa ji made Ragini sit again.
(You rest for now, what if you fall again? I don't want this good news to turn into a bad one.)
I was happy that she was showing her concern for the first time,better choice of words would have made this a beautiful moment perhaps.
"Han badi bhabhi, you rest I'll help Aakriti bhabhi in kitchen" Nandani di said, which took me by shock.
Why are they acting so normal?
I and Nandani went towards kitchen, I wouldn't lie about me feeling scared because of the previous experience of my with her in the kitchen.
I could still remember the dreadful day when my mother-in-law burnt my hand, the day I questioned my faith,the day I lost hope of a happy married life.
"Aakriti make kheer, exactly the way you had made on your pehli rasoi. It was damn good" Nandani di said happily.
Wow, did she really compliment me?
I nodded at her, we'll need more milk for that.
"Di you go to the nearby grocery shop and bring few packet of milk, till then I'll wash the rice" I tried to said as calmly as possible.
I don't want her to think that I'm ordering her or something.
I waited for her to shout at me or at least make some snarky remarks but she just nodded and left the kitchen.
Did she hit her head somewhere while she was away.
I shook my head and started doing the work, today the kheer will taste even better cause I'm putting more love of mine in it.
For Ragini di and the future baby.
Meanwhile I also texted Rishabh asking him to come home early today.
Both the brothers aren't aware of Ragini di's pregnancy, we thought of telling them once they're back.
Nandani di returned in few minutes and she started boiling the milk while I finely chopped the dry fruits.
I was glancing at her every now and then thinking about the change in her behaviour.
Soon the kheer was prepared.
"Bhabhi, let's make pooris too" Nandani di suggested and we ended up making the dinner together.
For the very first time I saw her doing any house chores and I was very happy to see the change in our relationship, though I'm unaware of the reason.
I hope she remains like this only, touchwood.
Everyone were seated on the dinning table, Rishabh ji and Bhaiya had returned from office.
"Bhabhi, I guess you can serve the dinner on your own. Can I leave?" Nandani di asked me and I got shocked even more.
Since when she needed my permission?
I nodded at her and she left not before smiling at me.
I just shock my head at her and prayed to God that there shouldn't be any mischief behind this.
I arranged the plates and took it to the dining table, everyone smiled smelling the aroma of it.
"Aare kheer,poori aur aalo ki sabki, is there some festival today?" Rishabh ji asked looking at the food.
All the ladies looked towards Ragini di and she smiled looking down.
" Woh..."She started but was cut off by my mother in law.
" Hum dadi banne Wale hai" She said with a proud smile .
( I'm going to become grandmother)
Both the brothers looked at Ragini di with shocked expression, she nodded at them confirming maa ji's words.
"Badhai ho Bhaiya Bhabhi" Rishabh ji got up from her chair taking the bowl of kheer and fed one spoon to the soon-to-be parents.
He then came to me and fed me
" Choti maa banne ke liye badhai ho Aakriti"
(Congratulations Aakriti, you'll be aunt)
"Aapko bhi, chote papa jo banne wale hai" I smiled at him.
(You too, after all you'll be uncle)
"Papa banne ki bhi khusi de dijiye" He whispered in the ears making me blush.
(Shower me with the happiness of being a father too)
Maa ji coughed making him sit on his seat again.
They all ate the dinner and praised me and Nandani di with each bite.
After dinner everyone slept while me and Risabh sat in our room.
He was feeding me dinner as I didn't eat with them.
Me and Ragini di never eat dinner with everyone cause we need to serve them if the wanted anything more.
And now as Ragini di need utmost care, I guess it'll me alone eating after everyone.
Me and Rishabh ji chatted a lot, the vibes in this house was finally .
