Chapter Thirteen
"I can't believe she has the guts to actually walk in here." Rachel sneered at Vanessa and told Lindsey who was smirking.
They both hated the fact that Vanessa had always naturally acted as though they were below her.
They would show her now.
Vanessa took a deep breath and walked in to head to her class as she felt all eyes on her.
There was a difference in how they looked at her though. Before it was with awe, now it was with disgust.
She walked in with one goal, to find Emerson. She just had to try.
Emerson recalled the events of his life since that day as he drove into Muskwood Private.
His family was broken. Elena stopped eating, she would never come out of her room. She didn't want to ever see anyone.
His mother would cry all day. She would scream and fight with his father who would try to patiently listen as he watched his wife break down. Nobody smiled anymore.
His father would take out all the anger he had on his subordinates. Nobody got a second chance. He had started coming home late with Emerson as they both walked in with blood stained clothes as his mother barely looked at them as she sat on the floor outside Elena's door with tears.
All because of one person. All because of who he trusted. This was basically his fault. He was the one that let her get to his family.
He got out of his car as West caught up to him without saying a word. They both headed in as the rest of the students watched them and excitedly talked about something.
"What the fuck is wrong with them." Emerson growled unable to keep his anger at bay anymore.
"Something's up for sure." West mumbled as they headed to their lockers.
"What do —"
"Emerson." A hesitant voice called from behind making Emerson's body vibrate with fury.
He turned immediately as the entire hallway went silent.
Vanessa couldn't help but nervously look at him. "C-can we talk? I need to talk to —"
"You dumb cunt. You think you can fucking come back here?" Emerson got into her space as he slammed her body into a locker causing her to wheeze out a gasp in shock.
"Please just listen —"
"Another word and I'll fucking lose my shit. I'll make sure everyone knows you're fair game you fucking slut. You're not a woman, you're a demon so I won't regret anything I do to you." He laughed wickedly and grabbed her hair pulling it tightly.
She tried not to whimper at the pain as she closed her eyes.
He threw to the ground by her hair and sneered down at her with disgust.
"This is for what you did to her. Come near me ever again and you'll be fucking disfigured." He spat at her face with a cruel look on his face and walked away as everyone in the hallway laughed and cheered Emerson on.
Vanessa got up, unable to speak as her throat tightened.
She couldn't cry here. Not in front of them. They were vultures.
She got up trying not to wince at the pain in her body as she walked towards her class.
As she walked towards the gym, she tried not to cry. She had been subjected to all sorts of humiliation and pain within one day.
When she was about to walk in, coach's eyes found hers as she quiackly woaked towards her.
"Uh Vanessa. We need to talk."
"Yeah?" She tried to speak steadily.
"In light of everything that has happened, I'm sorry but you can be on the team anymore. It's not good for the team and almost every parent has asked for it as um they think you should be taken off." Coach didn't meet her eyes as she spoke.
Vanessa's eyes dimmed as she simply nodded and headed the other way.
She couldn't help but hate the fact that Finn had forced her to come today.
She got into her car with slight difficulty and drove back home.
She tried to ignore the spray paint and trash that had been thrown outside of her house.
Slut. Rapist bitch. Demon spawn. You are the devil. Vanesslut.
As she walked in, she barely looked at Finn who was drinking his Irish whiskey.
It wasn't as though he looked at her either.
She snapped suddenly and went to him. "I don't want to go to school. It's fucking horrible there, they treat me like shit." She ranted and broke down as she went on about everything that they had done to her.
From Emerson abusing her to having toilet water dumped on her. They treated her like she was nothing.
Finn barely batted an eye at her tantrum.
"Shut up girl. That is nothing. If you can't even handle this you are actually nothing. If you don't want them to treat you like shit, don't act like you are shit." Finn pushed her away and got up sternly.
Vanessa turned and ran up the stairs to her room as she locked the door and sat against it.
She started whimpering unable to help her heart from breaking at everything that was happening.
She wasn't this girl. When had she become this weak?
She didn't even want to look at her phone anymore. The cyberbullying had reached an extremely unbelievable low. There were sites saying she should kill herself.
Sometimes she felt like doing it when she got lost in her thoughts.
She just wanted Emerson but she knew that no matter how hard she tried, she was the enemy to him now. She wished she could talk to Elena too but she didn't ever dare to think about her.
What Elena was going through was something that Vanessa had indirectly caused.
Her own dad had done this to her friend.
The worst part that ate Vanessa up was, she knew she had done it.
She knew she had done exactly what everyone had accused her of doing.
Whenever she couldn't remember, she had always done something horrible.
Vanessa was a demon and deep inside, she knew it.
