Chapter Fourteen
"Hold her down." Lindsey yelled over the two girls who were trying to force Vanessa's head into the toilet.
Vanessa pushed back and yelled angrily until she gargled and dry heaved when her face was submerged into the dirty toilet water.
They did this every single time she went to the bathroom. If they were there, this was what they did.
"I told you last time, if you need to pee, use the bushes Vanesslut." Rachel calmly called out as all of the girls laughed.
They let go after a while as Vanessa vomited and choked on the water.
She pushed one of the girls back but two other girls gripped her arms and twisted them behind her back.
Some girls slapped her while Rachel punched her face as hard as she could over and over.
"You're fucking nothing. I can't believe Emerson ever decided to pity date you."
They taunted and beat up a broken Vanessa who stayed on the floor even after they left with swollen eyes and blood everywhere.
She got up after a while and tried to wash her face as she took out her hoodie to cover herself.
She wore her sunglasses and groaned as she slowly walked out.
Everyone was starting to come out of their classes as the bell rang for lunch so she quickly hid herself and noticed that there was some sort of commotion going on.
Emerson walked out with a girl that she had never seen before. She was much shorter than him with blonde hair. He was darkness personified while she was bright like the light.
Vanessa couldn't breathe as she watched him smile down at her and wrap his arm around her waist as they both walked into the cafeteria with his crew in tow.
Who was she?
Vanessa couldn't help the jealousy that enveloped her.
She sneaked out towards one of the windows where the entire cafeteria was visible.
They were both laughing as they say together.
Emerson couldn't take his eyes off of her and the girl was just as besotted with him.
It was breaking Vanessa piece by piece.
He leaned down to whisper something to the girl as she blushed and said something back.
Vanessa couldn't watch anymore as she somehow lugged her pained body to her car and drove home.
She took heavy breaths and managed to go inside.
Finn took one calculated look at her and cocked his head.
It had been six months since the incident. She felt nothing anymore. The physical pain was always there but today, watching Emerson with that girl had suddenly invaded her mind and brought her back to reality.
"One more month till graduation." He told her as she was set to graduate and turn eighteen the same month.
Vanessa firmly nodded and started going upstairs before she stopped. Trying one last time.
"I saw him with a girl today. He never looked at anyone the way he looked at her. He didn't even look at me that way."
"What do you want me to say?" Finn calmly questioned after a moment.
They had gotten used to each other's presence.
He had not softened to her but Vanessa had started to depend on him. He was always there when she got home.
