I buckled my seatbelt, sitting behind Kate in the back seat. I could sense floras frightened and worried demeanor from next to me."You all buckled Flora?" I asked her gently.
"Mmhmm.." she silently hummed.
I felt so bad for her, I knew she didn't want to go but Kate was too stuck on the idea. Miles buckled his seatbelt from the passenger seat, me having a clear view of him diagonally.
He looked in the back seat, peeking a small glance at me until covering it up by looking at Flora. He is dumb if the thinks I didn't notice.
He leaned back, sticking his hand out for Flora to hold. She reached up and squeezed it, anxious written all over her face.
"It's okay, Flora. I promise. Me and Y/N are here."
I smiled slightly at miles finally acknowledging me in a good way. She nodded, still a little upset.
Miles pulled his hand back, Flora dropping hers into her lap and playing with her fingers for outage. She leaned her head on my shoulder as Kate started the car from the front.
She popped a cd into the car, music playing.
"And we're off!" She said as she began driving.
I snuck a glance in Miles's direction, seeing he was already looking at me. I figured I would try to numb the stiff air in our relationship by smiling, so I did.
He held his usual cold expression, in a condescending manner to make me leave him alone. I swallowed a hunk of saliva nervously, my smile fading and looking away.
I could sense Miles's eyes still piercing into the side of my face, even without peeking glances at the boy. I wish we could just be normal again.
We gained closer to the gates of Bly Manor, before Flora inched her head off of my shoulder.
"I-.. I don't wanna go." She said to Kate.
"Oh no honey we're almost at the gate, you're gonna be fine." Kate said back to her.
I looked to Flora, her abruptly grabbing my hand for comfort. Miles looked back at us, I could see he was worried about her.
"I DON'T WANNA GO!" She yelled, more panicked.
"Flora it's okay-" Kate tried to comfort her, being cut off.
"NO! STOP!" She yelled, banging on the back seat car doors in urge of getting out.
"Stop the car." Miles said, a hint of stern mannerisms in his voice.
Kate continued driving the gate, making me cut in.
"Kate I really think you should stop." I told her from behind her seat.
"I DONT WANNA DIE! STOP!" Kate screamed as tears began running down her cheeks.
I rubbed her back comfortingly.
"STOP THE CAR." Miles said, a bit rougher.
She continued to drive her car, completely ignoring her cries for help and outage.
"Kate stop!" I yelled to her.
"STOP! STOP! PLEASE I DON'T WANNA DIE!" Flora screamed.
The moment was like putting your hand on a stove, but not being able to take it off because your held at gunpoint. I didn't know what to do and neither did Flora.
"STOP THE CAR OR ILL FUCKING KILL YOU!" Miles screamed.
The car came to an abrupt halt, Flora tearing off her seatbelt and pushing open the door to run out.
I was frozen in the moment, glued to my seat as Flora ran out. Miles turned back to Kate, an angry, diminishing expression on his face.
He wanted to kill her.
"I TOLD YOU TO STOP." He said to her angrily.
He left the car too, slamming the door and speed walking to the other side of the car, following Flora.
"Shit.." Kate whispered, unbuckling her seatbelt and going to open the car door.
She opened the door, but it was slammed in her face. I gasped, Kate yelping in fear.
Miles had slammed her door shut, his hands pressed up on the window with that patronizing look on his pale complexion.
"I know what you're afraid of. Keeping the lights on won't keep you safe." Miles said to her sternly.
He marched away from the door angrily, following Flora. I was kept aghast from his presence.
𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭.. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐨𝐭.
I heard Kate's heavy breathing from the front seat, ignoring it and going to follow the pair.
