"Girls, get in here! It's time for chalkboard!" Abby shouted from Studio A.
They all gathered in the studio and Emily sat beside Maddie on the end. Mackenzie was behind her though.
"Alright, let's get started with chalkboard," Jeff had said from behind the camera, it had taken him a minuge to set it up.
"Okay, girls, this weekend we were in Providence Rhode Island, an hour outside of Boston. Some of the most prestigious dance studios in the country are there. Tough schools, touch competitors, and you really held your own. You won that victory cup. You killed it, I'm very proud," all the moms and girls clapped when Abby said this.
"Brooke, you're smiling at dance for once," Emily whispered to the older girl.
Brooke laughed a little but rolled her eyes at Emily and gave her a look.
"Excellent, I'm very proud of every one of you and you know I don't say that too often," that's true she didn't. "I'm also proud that all of the moms kept their mouths shut and didn't say anything to me," Katie and Holly looked to one another. "See how much nicer it is when everything goes so smoothly? It was wonderful. Now let's talk about this week," Abby said before she turned the chalkboard around.
Emily covered her ears as she heard it scraping against the ground. They really needed to get a new chalkboard. One with two working wheels and not just one. At least Abby wasn't dragging her nails down the chalkboard. That would've been worse.

Emily frowned at her placing on the board. She had won with her duet and both group dances. And her solo got second. She felt like she deserved to be higher. She was happy for the other girls though.
Katie also wasn't pleased with the placing Emily had received.
"We are going to what?" Abby had written the name of the competition on the board.
"Star Power," the girls all read.
"It's at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut and it's a resort, it's all self contained and we can't forget anything," Abby told the girls, Emily glanced at her mother who looked stressed. "So, we will have a wardrobe for each day they're going to be there, just like the old school days. Yes? And you will pack here in front of me so that I know that you have everything," Cathy didn't look pleased. "Let's talk about the board. First of all, everybody worked together as a team. That team work is what's going to help you at nationals, that's what's going to put you over the top. Team work and technique. Those are the two things we're going to concentrate on this week. Maddie, you are up here," Abby pointed to their pictures. "You had a solo, Maddie dance beautiful and won first. You have a solo this week," Emily and Maddie smiled at each other.
