The sun had barely risen when Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto prepared to leave Jujutsu High for their mission in Okinawa, to escort the Star Plasma Vessel. The air was thick with anticipation as they gathered their stuff before having to leave for the airport.
Hanako watched from a distance, a knot of unease tightening in her stomach. She had a bad feeling about this mission, but she kept it to herself, not wanting to add to the tension.
"Hey, make sure to come back in one piece, alright?" Hanako called out, trying to sound light-hearted.
Suguru turned and gave her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, we've got this. Don't cause a ruckus while we're gone."
"You remember what I asked, right?", She mutters out to him, receiving a thumbs up from the guy.
Gojo, ever the confident one, winked playfully at her. "We'll be back before you even notice we're gone. Try not to miss us too much, Freak-face. Besides, we're the strongest."
"Miss you? In your dreams, Satoru.", She scoffed lightly. Satoru himself felt a pang of annoyance in her words, but being the person he is, he shook the feeling off.
With that, the two sorcerers departed, leaving Hanako with a lingering sense of foreboding.
The day dragged on, each hour feeling like an eternity. She tried to focus on her training, but her mind kept drifting back to her friends and the mission they were on.
She felt an awful feeling. A feeling that made her panick on the inside. But anyone would call her insane if she told them. She sighed as she walked back into the campus, heading off to where Shoko was.
------------
Meanwhile, at Okinawa..
"Is it really okay to go sightseeing right now?", Kuroi asked awkwardly as she stood beside Suguru, watching Satoru and Riko clowning around in the waters. Satoru was too busy running after her with a sea cucumber in his hands.
"It was Satoru's idea. I suppose it's his way of showing compassion to Riko.", Suguru chuckles softly, noting Kuroi's concern, because the curse users would obviously be found in many places, to get the bounty.
He looks back at Satoru and Riko, calling out to them, "Satoru! Let's get going! It's almost time!"
Satoru and Riko suddenly stop their banter, as Satoru says, "it's time already?". Riko showed clear disappointment as she lets out a small "aw..", not going unheard by Satoru.
"Suguru. How about we leave tomorrow morning?", He says, walking up to his friend as Suguru shakes his head. "Satoru but--" , he's interrupted by Satoru again.
"The weather is great. Besides, if we are in Okinawa instead of Tokyo, there would be fewer curse users.", the white haired says calmly.
Meanwhile, Riko took Kuroi into the shallow waters with her as she hears the green signal for a longer vacation.
"Are you even taking this seriously?", Suguru mutters in disbelief. "Come on! It'll be better if the bounty was lifted on our way!", Satoru says childishly.
Suguru brings himself up to Satoru's ear and mumbled quietly, "You've been using your cursed technique non-stop since yesterday, haven't you?"
The hint of concern in this voice didn't go unmissed. "What about sleep? Don't tell me you're planning to stay awake the entire night again. Are you sure we don't have to go back to Jujutsu High?", Suguru urges with obvious worry.
Satoru just chuckles, resting a hand on Suguru's shoulder. "I'm good, man. I think playing 99 years of Momotaru Dentetsu is harder", he shrugged simply.
Satoru turns to look at Suguru as he mutters, "Besides, you're here too."
Suguru lets out a little snicker at his words, somehow finding it funny. Satoru just glared back.
His blessed blue eyes stare at Suguru's hand that has been fidgeting with something in the pocket of his shorts.
"What have you got there?", Satoru says in curiosity, bringing an arm around Suguru's shoulder, leaning as he tries to peak.
Suguru shakes his head in amusement as he takes his hand out of his pockets, lifting it to face level as his three fingers open, a silver chained locket hanging between his pointer finger and thumb.
It was an ocean blue charm, a crystal- like stone that contrasted the colour and waves of the sea in front of them as it glistened under the sunlight.
Satoru's eyes widened slightly at the accessory. It was simple, yet beautiful.
"A necklace? Let me guess, this isn't for you now, is it?", He says cockily as he looks at Suguru who has a smile on his face.
"No, Satoru. It isn't for me.", Suguru hummed. His mind wanders back to what he heard from her.
Just bring me something that could remind me of the ocean
"Suguruuu! Who's this for then?", Satoru whines like a child, impatient to know who it is for. "For Hanako, of course." Suguru mutters. Satoru feels an awful feeling inside once he hears it.
"Freak-face?", He says in annoyance. Suguru sighed, "Satoru, you have to stop calling her that."
"So what? Come on, don't you see the vision?", Satoru mocks. Suguru glares at him, not liking his perspective at all.
Right there at Suguru's glare, Satoru suddenly felt a tab bit of guilt. But again, he shakes it off.
"She asked for a souvenir", Suguru shrugged. Satoru still had his eyes on the necklace. Something about Suguru giving it to her stirred something else in him, but he shook it off.
"And what makes you think freak-face will like it?", Satoru retorts back, clearly showing his annoyance.
"Jealous? That she gets a gift and you don't?", Suguru mocks back and Satoru shoots him a glare.
"Tch, I don't even get why you'd gift her", Satoru shrugged as the clear arrogance in his voice didn't go unnoticed.
"Well, not everyone is like you, Satoru", Suguru laughed softly as Satoru was continuously glaring at him through the black shades.
Time passed by quickly, with all the fun they had together, and eventually they ended up at the Jujutsu High territory.
"Alright everyone, you can take it easy now. We're in the Jujutsu High barriers", Suguru assured as they all walk inside.
"What a relief!", Riko says gladly. "Yeah. I don't have to do more babysitting anymore", Satoru says mockingly which makes Riko yell a "what!?"
"Satoru, thank you for your hard work", Suguru says with the kind voice he has.
Satoru was yet to respond when he felt a sharp, stabbing pain in his chest. His eyes widened, followed by gasps from the others as he looked down. A blade cut through his chest, from behind. He's sweating, he's confused, and surprised. Suguru panicked, Riko and Kuroi looked horrified.
"Do I know you from somewhere?", Satoru gives out an awkward laugh as the man behind him replies with a smirk, "Don't sweat it, I'm not the one to remember some dude's name either."
